- camera work I dislike 8/7/2007 6:21:17 AM BTW, the Wide Angle or Fisheye lense isn't always a stylistic choice. The functional aspect of it is that it allows the cam op to get closer to the subject while showing more of the scene, or more of the subject if that's the goal. It allows a cam op to work in tigher spaces, like between a wall and a bed. It can even allow for more interaction between the cam op and the subject, for example if they're using toys on the model while they're filming or else they're even shooting POV material. That's why there's often the Fisheye visual characteristic in POV material. It never bothered me, I guess just because I always knew why they were using it. But some of the better cameras on the market nowdays can acheive pretty short focal lengths with ...
- camera work I dislike 8/7/2007 5:55:15 AM Hear Pure has a good point here. Cam ops that constantly move the camera make the it seem like the narrator has a short attention span. Good shots are few and far between because of the constant repositioning, and because the cam op feels a constant obligation to keep moving to maintain the pacing, the best shots are all too short. Consider one of the best cam ops in the business, one who has been a true pioneer in shaping norms in videography throughout the industry, Quasarman. When he finds a good angle he holds it, he never moves the camera for the sake of moving it. His shots are a made up of classic establishing, breakdown, re-establishing shots, only some of the transitions are done with mobile camera. Hats off, Quasarman. Try taking ...
- Smelly female feet at any porn production ? 8/5/2007 10:24:19 PM Hey Balou! I can understand where you're coming from. When you watch a scene, you want to know all the details, so you can feel like you're as close to that model as possible, especially if you're a fan of hers. I find it hard to believe that anyone in the industry doesn't have an answer to this. I got something for you. On a shoot I did last year, I won't name the model, but she was incredibly hot and had great feet, and I made a point of getting well acquainted with them:) One thing I did notice about them is that they had a stronger smell than the other models I have worked with, but it was a natural smell and it was pleasant. Maybe some people would have been offended? But it wasn't an offensive smell. Swirl that around in your imaginat...
- How well do adult DVDs sell? 8/5/2007 10:13:17 PM Consider the notion of the Gonzo genre bringing the whole industry down. First of all, quality level is independant of genre choice. There is quite a bit of excellent quality Gonzo material out there, and there is quite a bit of unwatchable quality Gonzo, which could be said about every genre, so why would a viewer lower their standards to watch poorer quality Gonzo vs. higher quality Gonzo? Besides, before Gonzo became a true genre, there was amateur, and typical amateur material was a hell of a lot poorer quality than typical Gonzo material. Moreover, when the industry was rampant with amateur it was pinned as the culprit that was bringing the industry down that people are describing Gonzo as now. Secondly, if you buy into the argument t...
