  Salutations, I just caught a rumor on Adult FYI that Tera Patrick might actually be considered for a Quentin Tarantino remake of Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! in the role Tura Satana played. Gotta say, if this is true, if Tera makes the cut, and if Tera can actually carry the role. IMHO, Tera would blow Jenna Jameson off the stage as a true mainstream crossover queen. Knock'em dead Tera!   I can confirm Jason's report. Rev. Mel called me Sunday night to tell me her show on Ksex had been cancelled and Ksex was closing. We had an independent report from someone regarding the closing on Friday night, and ironically saw Rainy and Cuz at Chili's, where Rainy predicted the station wouldn't last past Monday. Porn Star Karaoke is now independent. Sardo's will live on forever even if PSK doesn't. Matter of fact, they're still accepting sponsors and promotions.   Wow, I'm starting to blush a bit :-) Honestly, it's rare anyone asks. My friend Orpheus from Cirque De Sade had been asking me to draw him and his ladies for a while. Attached is the final piece. Ironically, even as production manager for AVN, we would have many times when editorial illustration was not only appropriate, but necessary given the tight deadlines and time constraints. Very rarely was I approved to use illustration for the magazines (thankfully, that's begun to change thanks to Mike Desert and Robert Bailon, both great artists).   Antonio Passolini died while directing his wildest and most creative feature when he was trampled by a herd of water buffalo wearing George W.   Salutations, I need some help here from fans. Linda Roberts, who's in her 40's, was floored to see she made it into the nominations for best actress for the AVN awards 2007. She asked me if any female performers over 40 had been nominated for best actress before. My first response was golly, sure, had to have, right? Well, the AVN Awards site lists only winners, and going back to 1990, the closest I find is Ginger Lynn (and I'm not sure if she was over 40 when she won her trophy in 2002). Granted, this doesn't cover nominations. Personally, I'm thinking Nina Hartley, Sharon Mitchell, Sharon Kane and Gloria Leonard had to have been nominated at least once in their 40's.   There's also another somewhat logical explaination. AVN will run trailers (for free) if they're soft, but they won't run hardcore. The guidlines for AEE also specify no hardcore on the monitors. This sounds great as a PR person until you realize this means the editor has to do a soft cut as well as the hard cut. That's extra time and money some places just don't want to spend when they can have one general purpose trailer. This may not be the actual reason, but it supports the logic.   Salutations, The problem we ran into with our new feature was could they act? This was the major reason for using seasoned talent. We had three novices, but only one had an acting part, and his lines were pretty short. The gamble we had was not on the pop, it was could the new guy deliver in a feature role. I now understand why Mike Horner and Randy Spears are used so often. Not only can they fuck and come on cue (damn could they), but they can deliver lines convincingly. As for sex training, I'm with Tricia on the Nacho principle. Coming from the sex industry in the Bay Area, I'd wager live sex shows make good training grounds (and filters) for who can perform on camera.
