  I wouldn't walk around at night there if I were you, hell not even in the day with $10,000s worth of equipment. There's this one story I heard, similar to Mutt's, where a crew went over there to shoot, they hired some newbie girl and after a confruntation about what she would not do, she left and came back with some gangbanger friends which stole all the equipment and messed up the crew.   awesome opinions here, however I do feel it's turning more into a debate of which is better: gonzo vs. full feature (vivid etc..) My idea was to discuss, soley looking at the gonzo niche, the effects of the introduction of new companies with new video content.

  What a great thread. Very cool that some of the big movers and shakers of the biz are involved in this discussion. My take on this is that average and below average porn (not necessarily plot based porn) will lose most of its sales as fresher & better material is released from the newer studios. Better meaning better visual quality, more customer oriented, better actors and directing etc... As someone mentioned, in the future, there will be more and more studios, older studios and brand new studios that will release 'higher quality' material. What do you think will happen in terms of the customer shift? Will the top companies out of the high quality batch get most of the sales/rentals, will sales/rentals spread across all studios as more ...

  What do you think is the impact on the adult video industry of the new high quality gonzo porn released by Red Light District, Jules Jordan and the spawn of new studios with good movies (PlatinumX/DVSX/Zero Tolerance). I'm speaking from a startegic marketing point of AV dvd/vhs sales/rentals. Who are the winners & losers and what effect did this have on the smaller/average studios that were releasing below average or average content before? Do you think customers just started buying more porn as more high quality material was available and nobody really lost sales volume (increase in sales volume & revenue) or was there a shift in sales (more quantity supplied yet same volume and revenue) ?

  Hello porn people, I have yet another technical question. I've read several article about the differences in technologies, ie interlaced, progressive, NTSC, PAL. I'm still a little unclear. Are most of the gonzo porn movies shot on NTSC DV cameras with interlaced mode and then de-interlaced when edited for web or DVD? How does this work? Thank you

  Can anyone suggest a good software package(s) for editing miniDV tapes and then authoring and burning to a master DVD? Something that will provide lossless quality preferably. I just shot my first home video and want to burn it to DVD.

  I'm just sitting here watching some Red Light stuff and pondering on why their videos look a hell of a lot better than other studios? They look more alive and more saturated. Is it that they use newer equipment (newer cameras, newer lighting) or do they use some sort of color correction in post production? Any thoughts?

Would RLD sell their rights for Breakin'Em In to Anabolic so Anabolic can sell the same identical scenes as them? Heck no! So why would they do it online.   Dion, First off, fantastic job with all your movies. They rock! AdultLegal licenses the WHOLE DVD and everyone puts up the WHOLE dvd in their paysites AND free sites. You can see the license on their website and it doesn't say anything about only using clips. Just like Ramsey says, there are sites that feature your entire collection, and according to them, it's all legal. I have even seen websites RESELL the content as a plugin to other webmasters not sure if they licensed via adultlegal or have a deal with you. I think you were misinformed of the licensing and thus your content is now all over the Internet.   You have guys like JulesJordan, Anabolic, Diabolic, Evil Angel complaining about Internet piracy and p2p piracy (constantly adding new methods, watermarks etc.. to prevent this) while studios such as Red Light District, Elegant Angel, Legend license their videos to other websites for Inter for dirt cheap prices via adultlegal.com ??? I don't understand this. Why would a studio not want to keep their content exclusive and get more DVD sales then overexposing it by putting it on the Internet?
