  In an effort to display ADT hospitality to the folks at Elegant Angel, I'll offer to let Mason visit me for a few days and crash at my place while we discuss the upcoming releases, as well as some of the problems the older titles had. She can bring a few of the female performers with her if need be (I have a big couch for them to crash on) for moral support.

  Upon further consideration of the matter, I agree with Steph's response and Pontus's general idea. In order to minimize hard feelings, I think it'd make more sense to see who would be available to go first (as Steph has said) and then narrow it down from there. If the representatives are going to be flying under ADT's flag, then it's only fair that Steph & Drew make the final choice. I appreciate Mike's compliments but due to my puritanical employer, I'll take a raincheck. Mr. Collins can always count on my input and has my email address if he needs an unbiased opinion though.   Thank you for listening. It's always nice to see a company willing to do so, especially in porn where the consumer is usually treated like a leper. Here's my thoughts: Contests are fun but I don't think all members here would be as insightful as others. The same holds true for voting-majority rules tends to be a popularity contest rather than picking someone best qualified. If you are going to consider nominations, I'd strongly suggest Astro, Yoga, Smartblonde, Lee, or Endo (with plenty of others worthy too) as each of them has displayed the ability to articulate what they, and others, like as well as come up with some great ideas. Just a few thoughts...

  There are supposedly ten thousand new porno's released each year and most of them are crap. That fact means your question is not lame but very good. Your best bet is to decide what YOU like-genre, production values, performers, etc.-and then find a reviewer with similar tastes. Often enough, you'll find a company that caters to what you like or a director that consistently releases movies you can appreciate. Other than that, be prepared to watch some real stinkers in order to discover those few gems on the shelves.

  Rump, I used to buy according to cost as well but later found out what I was missing. By limiting yourself to under $20, you cut out some of the very best companies on the market. Luckily, ADT's pricesearch helps us save money. Yay Drew & Steph!

  Brian's right and considering the past experiences the folks at Adam & Eve have had in the past with such prosecutions, I'll defer to their expertise. IIRC, there was a book written by one of their big wigs detailing the entire thing. If I can find a copy locally, I'll submit a mini-review from my "centrist/conservative" viewpoint.

  Hardz, sorry that you took my message the wrong way but you missed the main point: THERE WAS NO VERDICT REACHED! By definition, a hung jury means that a verdict COULDN'T be reached which is considered a far WORSE outcome than either not guilty or even guilty. Why? Well think about it for a second if you would. If a verdict of not guilty was reached, it would make it more difficult for the same district attorney, as well as others in the area, to continue to use scare tactics on the industry. If a guilty verdict was reached, the case could be appealed to a higher court which might be the only way a newer, more logical legal standard could be set. This case had no verdict reached which, as I stated before, allows the state to keep at him. ...

  I agree with many of the comments here but consider that a number of people want to argue that "freedom of speech" means there are no limits at all (including all the stuff that most rational people agree is obscene-animals, kiddie porn, etc.) which was never the intent of those who wrote the Constitution. Commercial speech has a long history of censorship and many have argued (with varying degrees of success) that the 1st Amendment concerned political speech, not everything under the sun as we seem to think today.   I think the analogy is flawed. Unless his lawyers work for free and his time has no value, a hung jury means he gets to start from scratch. California may decide on a new approach to prosecuting him that is more successful as well. So all the bluff and bluster about "winning" seems a bit premature. Bleeding a defendant dry repeatedly is a long standing tactic of District Attorney's with an axe to grind. Of course he might also lose the next round which would cost money and may land him in jail to be the sex toy of all the inmates too...

  As I recall, one of the newer companies was working on a series about sex from the women's point of view. They even asked one of our regulars to assist with the second volume. A large part of that dealt with more foreplay which seems like a good idea to me-an old, jaded, reviewer who's watched far too much porn over the years.
