PBS reports Trump is touting nuclear reactors in his rush to speed up domestic power capacity. Sounds like he wants to do the same thing he bombed Iraq for doing. Remember, folks, Iraq's nuclear power facility was being monitored by the international Atomic Energy Agency before Trump decided to bomb it, which suggests his attack on Iraq wasn't really about their nuclear program. That, or maybe he thinks you can sneak radioactive material past inspectors. Put that stuff in your cloths, maybe? Never mind that the radiation is actively destroying your cells. You'll die rich! And soon! Anyway, the obvious problem with Trump's scheme is that he is corrupt, so who is going to make sure that his domestic reactors will be safe? Who is going to ma...

Wow, now Laura Loomer has done an about-face and gone to Ukraine to show support for the country's fight against Putin. Didn't see that coming. Looks like Trump's support for Ukraine may be back on. Not saying it will last, we are talking about Putin's biggest fan, after all, but it is definitely better than where we were a few days ago.

He's smart enough to take his daddy's money and make his own fortune in real estate. Not sure how much ripping off the contractors he hired to do the work helped, but it didn't hurt. Of course, none of that qualifies him for any public office, much less the presidency, a fact that he demonstrates every single day.

From MSN - "Russia’s economy is an illusion’ built on debt, and a banking crisis is ready to explode, intel report says, while the Kremlin may seize pensions." Assuming the above is true, Putin may find himself fighting two wars - one against Ukraine, and one against the Russian people. Assuming it actually happens, what are the odds that Trump will try to bail Putin out? I'm guessing he will, but we know that if Trump decides that you're a loser then he never heard of you, so maybe not.

Way back when I was a little kid we moved from California to Louisiana by way of New Mexico. I don't know what it is like now, but back then you could go for miles and miles without seeing a single soul. Anyway, when we stopped by the side of the road to eat lunch, my mother decided that she wanted a plant, so dad dug one out that was nearby. I'm not sure what species, all I know is that it is definitely prickly. Unfortunately, it is planted in the ground, rather than in a pot, and climbing vines get on it all the time. I clear them off, but the damned thing stabs me every time I do so (no, gloves not help). Not being much of a plant guy, I don't know whether or not it would be safe to dig the thing out of the ground or not. Even if it we...

By the way, on a whim I just asked Google what the most lies Trump has made in one day is. It sent me to the Washington Post fact checker, which says 503. Yep, five hundred and three lies in one day. That feat occurred when he was barnstorming for the 2020 presidential election, so I'm guessing that a lot of those lies were repeats. Not that repeats make it any better, rather, they prove that when he lies they aren't just off the cuff 'misstatements.' Rather, they are carefully calculated to deceive.

  • Public Broadcasting Targeted By House 6/17/2026 9:38:03 PM
Unfortunately, PBS is showing the strains put on it by the idiots in the House. More and more programs that have nothing to do with American politics are having technical problems, making it difficult, or impossible to watch them. We will all be the losers if Trump manages to kill it off, but it is particularly disgusting that valuable learning programs for young children will be lost, as well. How anyone can see that as a win is beyond me, but apparently it is in Trumpistan.

Well that was weird - playing Fallout New Vegas, my character and his companion just went into a Legion camp, killed the lot of them, and started to leave just as more legion troops arrive. Now, in the usual course of events a battle would ensue, but, instead, they ignore the fresh corpses and are all like, "Hey! How's it going, friends." Uh..., really well
  • The Nonsense Thread 6/4/2026 6:08:49 PM
Hey, Bethesda. Maybe you could explain why a gecko in "Fallout New Vegas" is immune to a fifty caliber bullet fired at point blank range, yet succumbs to one punch from my companion. She may have a hell of a punch, but this still just ridiculous.

New York Times is reporting that two police officers who defended the Capitol against the pro-Trump mob are suing in an attempt to block Trump from creating a $1.8 billion slush fund to, as they put it, reward rioters and right-wing militia groups for their actions on January 6th. Looks more and more like Trump plans to violate his oath of office (again) and make a bid to become president-for-life. Why else would he bother? It isn't like he actually cares about the suckers, and he already gets Secret Service protection for life. Well, I suppose it could just be a case of a grifter's gotta grift. ^ Just to remind you that this isn't a bug for Trumpists, this is a feature: Trump administration moves to roll back limits on "forever chemicals" in drinking water. ---------------------- So what if your kids get sick and die younger. If you aren't rich enough to get your own, personal water cleaner then you're obviously too poor to be of any use to Donald Trump, so, literally, you can fuck off and die. MAGA! Hell yah! Trump continues to demonstrate that he has no clue how Iran works, and that he's surrounded himself with yes men that aren't about to risk his wrath by setting him straight. What makes it worse is that both of those problems are entirely of his own making. Again, threatening to send Iranian leaders to Allah may make Trumpty-Dumpty feel like he's mister tough guy, but he might as well be threatening to throw them in the briar patch. Ergo, I doubt it is going to have the desired effect. Furthermore, it was Trump, not Iran, that broke the existing nuclear deal, for no better reason than he hates Obama for putting him down, and for being more popular than he'll ever be. That being so, they would be fools to believe Trump will abide by any agr...
  • The Republican Threat to Voting 5/18/2026 8:10:45 AM
Meanwhile, PBS News is reporting that Trump Nazis continue looking for ways to 'purge' election rolls before the midterms. Naturally, no 'conservative' purges will be done, just people considered unlikely to vote for our Dear Leader. Never mind that states, not the Fed, run elections. I'm sure "Red" states will rush to do Trump's bidding, because protecting themselves from Trump's wrath is far more important than abiding by the Constitution. I'm guessing that 'questionable' votes are set aside for "review", which really means that they don't get processed in time for the election. Purely coincidental, of course. I mean, who could have foreseen it?
  • How many pornstars does it make sense to have? 5/3/2026 7:25:45 PM
Paul_Allen96 wrote: How CAN you find 50 pornstars attractive? Easy - humans are not monogamists. Genetically speaking, polygamy is better than monogamy. So why do we promote monogamy? Considering how long it takes a human to mature, that may be the winning strategy. Furthermore, it might reduce friction between males competing for mating opportunities. Then again, given the effects of testosterone overload, maybe not.

I know it's basically planned to help the GOP cheat and deprive the Dems a victory in the midterms, but would the provisions in the legislation actually do that? The changing nature of the respective coalitions each party has, means a lot of these measures feel out of date and might harm Republican chances, rather than boost them? First off, Trump has ushered in an era where there is much less bi-partisan legislation being proposed. He has also made "Trumpublicans" in Congress much weaker. That is to say, we don't see said legislators doing much...
