  My guess re: card companies restricting content is that they have shareholders. Any potential blows to the bottom line are written upfront for investors, and I'm guessing that includes the possibility of catching cases from govt. That causes them to censor content even if feds aren't actively busting studios for it. Just the risk would be enough to have old MoneyBags panic and pull his cut. The stupid thing is that if this were the case, they would be doing it to stay competitive (for shareholders) which causes them to miss growth in an area with little / no competition (there's only Duke and tubesites afik) There's obviously demand for it..   IIRC, the ppl that pressed Max, Buttman, JM, etc. with legal action back in the 00s were mail-ordering from states w/ the least permissive policies. (Ashley Blue mentions it in her book I think..) So theoretically, a company could only put out DVDs as filthy as the least porn-friendly state allows. Websites don't have this problem since fencing content behind a disclaimer puts Liability on the consumer. (eg: If it's illegal to view content involving [insert awesome thing here] where you live etc..)
