  Aside from these practices being highly unethical, these companies are really biting the hand that feeds them. Sure, they may get a quick windfall from some unsuspecting consumers, but all the money they will ever get from that consumer, starts and ends there. They would have a much more stable and longer lasting business if they did not burn their bridges behind them. Provide a customer with a good service, at a reasonable fee, with no trickery, and you have them for life. With the access we have to information via the Internet today, dodgy companies get exposed pretty quickly.

  Duefuss RandomPrecision is correct. It's not that people do not care about the performers. It's just that the use of condoms in porn turn a lot of people off, which kind of defeats its purpose. It's simply a preference, equivalent to any other preference which may involve more risks for the participants. Take those who watch and support professional boxing or UFC.   Aplus As you'll see if you look again, my post was directed at performers, not producers, directors etc. Secondly, I said certain people are attracted to work in the porn industry because of the money and fame they can acquire without having to bring a great deal to the table in the way of talent, intelligence, etc. I did not say this was exclusively the case.   My initial post was in response to Brian_Wallace, because he seemed to genuinely have no idea why it mattered to some people that performers not wear condoms in scenes. I hope I enlightened him a bit, at least to my motivations anyway. Regarding performers, I think that their first concern should be toward their own health. If they do not want to perform without condoms, they should'nt. If they cannot sustain a career as a pornstar, with this criteria, they should either try to help influence change in the industry or cease to work in it.   Aplus, I don't mean intimacy in a lovey dovey kind of way. I mean skin to skin contact. The actual skin of the penis, having contact with the vagina or the mouth of the girl. This, by definition, makes the interaction more intimate, even if a scene is raw. You know, exchange of fluids and all that. This gives a scene an extra edge.   The reason why I don't like condoms in porno are numerous. Firstly, I don't watch porno for the fantasy. I watch it for the reality. The reality that the people on screen are actually doing the things they are doing. So faking cream pies and the rest, will not do it for me. I want the reality of it, not the fantasy, and I want it in all its messy glory. Condoms somehow sanitize it. In real life when you use condoms, you can barely feel anything. The friction effect disappears. There is also a disconnect, in terms of contact, with the person you are having sex with, subsequently, some intimacy is lost.
