  The US is supposedly a democracy and free country. I can't for the help of God understand how men in the US can accept that they are being circumcised as babies. Are you happy with such a situation? How can you accept it? It's a violation of your bodies that you have no control over, and didn't choose yourselves. Circumcision is a primitive cultural tradition in Africa and among orthodox Jewish people. But in modern civilised US?? It's really bizarre. And the excuse that circumcision prevents bacteria and infections doesn't hold up, because foreskin does not lead to bacteria or infections.   I didn't think that a DVD-player can play a DVD-R disc with HD resolution material on it. That a HD- or BluRay-player can play such a disc was my own deduction (and wishful thinking), since they can play DVD-R and also handle HD material. It seemed logical to me.

  Thanks conquistador. Yes, some trial and error will be necessary. Can't plan out everything in the head beforehand. Your last post took a little time for me to take in. So! DVD-R discs can actually handle HD-resolution material! Burn and then play on the PC. I thought it required HD or BluRay to handle so much data every second. But apparantly DVD-R can also play such high resolution material (of course not as many minutes can fit onto the disc as onto a HD- or BluRay-disc). Then they will probably also, besides on the PC, play well on HD- BluRay-players and HDTV screens. Amazing.

  One site offer the following resolutions: 96 hex 540 3000Mbps WMV - 64 hex 480 1500Kbps WMV - 32 hex 240 750Kbps MPEG. Can a DVD-R/-RW actually take 96 hex 540 high resolution? Maximum for DVD is supposed to be 720480 (NTSC) or 720576 (PAL).

  DVD-R you can only burn once. DVD-RW you can burn over and over. Is there a difference in picture/sound quality between the two?

  Thank you for the tips. The actual cost on download sites seem a little confusing. Sometimes it says weekly or monthly cost; but I don't know what that actually means and what you get for it. Do you have to pay extra charges on top of that, depending how much you download? On other sites it only says &quot;pay per minute&quot;. But most important, will a DVD-R or DVD-RW disc acually play on your DVD-player for the TV after you have burned it? In the manual to my DVD-player it says that the player may, or may not, play DVD-R/DVD-RW, depending on the adjustment of the PC software, and if the particular brand of DVD-R/DVD-RW is compatible or not.   So far I have bought all films on DVD. I don't know if it will be worthwhile to invest in a PC with download abilities and DVD burner. Do films burned down from the internet really look as good as purchased DVDs? The streamers I have seen look quite fuzzy.
