Well, I haven't posted here in nearly four years. Moving, falling in and out of love with all the wrong people, computer problems, work, work, work. They've all kept me away. I've checked in every once in awhile, and it's good to see a few people still around from when I was active (2001-2002). I also owe Steph several reviews for DVD's she sent me shortly before I moved from KC to Orlando. Guess I need to get watching! Anyhoo, those are my excuses for disappearing. Heheh.
  • Yeah! We can rant about QAF again! 3/27/2003 1:38 AM
Yeah, there was a quick glimpse, I'll give them that. Though the extended examination of the Prince Albert on "Six Feet Under" this week is just the sorta thing they'd never do. Granted, it was a "body" and not sexual, but still. That's more time devoted to a dick in one scene than the entire season of QAF!
  • Yeah! We can rant about QAF again! 3/12/2003 12:47 AM
I've seen the two episodes so far (I only watch on Tuesdays, since they pan & scan the Sunday shows...arrrgh), and I'm very underwhelmed. I mean, Brian is again screwing up Michael's relationship with the ultimate "sensitive understanding man." Justin and Soul Patch are just nauseating and still look too young to watch and not feel like I'm breaking a law. The Ted & Emmett hook-up is a lot less disgusting than the old man from last season, but still weird. Oh, and the lesbians are having "marital issues"...again. Yawn... Oh, and where are the cocks?!?!?!? Edited by - Feels So Right on 3/12/2003 12:48:33 AM
  • Notorious C.H.O. review 12/15/2002 1:18 AM
Hey, it's been forever since I've been on! Anyway, I caught her on tour and enjoyed the show a lot. There wasn't quite as much depressing material as on "I'm The One That I Want." She's definitely not for a mass audience. Many people, mostly older couples thinking they were gonna see the "All American Girl" left, because a lot of the material is very graphic...heheh. But the feature I'm most interested about on the DVD is the commentary she does "as her mother." Did you check that out? I am dying to hear that, but with the holidays, I can't be buying for me.
  • Jet Set's Dante found dead 4/19/2002 12:48 AM
Rame.net is the website for the newsgroup Rec.Arts.Movies.Erotica. I think the guy who runs it posts in the forums on occasion (though not this one that I've seen). It's an extensive database for porn. Of course, the one I check in on most often (and where Joe got this info) is the "Dead Porn Stars" page. It's really kind of sad and twisted to read of those who have passed on. I remember my heart sinking a couple of times the first time I checked it out and discovered a couple of my personal faves have died. Some listings have detailed info, some don't. Some have died under rather bizarre circumstances, many due to AIDS-related illness. Worth checking out.
  • Gay performers 3/29/2002 12:28 AM
Jeff Stryker is another performer who has done both types of films. Last time I checked in, his website was even split into two seperate straight/gay segments. I'm sure he's made more money in gay porn and is generally considered to be a gay porn star these days, though I honestly don't know his true preference. I think Tina's right on the money with straight men being threatened even by the suggestion of two men together. Pretty sad, but this is the way it's been for years, so it's not likely to ever change, as this is largely due to society's perception of what's "acceptable." But as long as there are quality straight, gay and bi films (like the "Goosed!" series ), I'll have something to watch, no matter what I'm perso...
  • Why is Gay porn more explicit than Straight porn? 3/16/2002 1:11 AM
While thumbing through the current issue of AVN, I noticed a full two-page ad for the "Dungeon Diaries" series, which included artwork for about 25 titles. Depictions included: breasts so tightly bound by rope that the blood vessels appeared to have burst and caused them to turn purple; clothespins on virtually every inch of many women; collars and chains; food smeared all over one woman; ball gags aplenty; plastic-wrap mummification; hot wax all over a few girls; oh, and mousetraps on the labia of a woman who looks like your school librarian. I personally didn't find anything erotic about it. Rather, I found it to be bizarre, perverse, even deplorable. But that's just me. I'm sure a few of you reading this think that sounds prett...
  • Is too much crappy porn bad for a reviewer? 3/10/2002 3:32 AM
Awww..y'all are so nice. I was looking through your reviews, Blondie, and you seem to have had decent luck finding titles you actually did like, so maybe the good will outweigh the bad. HD makes another excellent point about feeling obligated to give more detailed, accurate info when you do like something. Research is what's holding up a couple of my reviews, as I'm trying to ensure I'm accurately identifying as many performers as possible since I actually (somewhat) like the titles I'm reviewing. Not to worry, though, I'll find something to take out my anger on soon enough. I think in a way, the bad porn inspires me to be more creative when I tear it to shreds. It may not get me off, but it gets my brain working overtime to convey my utter...
  • Is too much crappy porn bad for a reviewer? 3/9/2002 1:15 AM
Yes, bad porn is bad for the reviewer, but I share HD's philosophy. If it's crap, I'm tellin' everybody! I have no problem telling someone what I think of a horrible (or, for that matter a really good) mainstream movie, so why should porn be different? If I spare someone the pangs of regret brought on by purchasing something that seemed like it might be good, only to discover how wrong you were, it's worth it. It also makes it seem that much better when you find something that's worth your time and money. I've been away for awhile, mostly due to circumstances totally unrelated to bad porn, but I'm preparing some new reviews and hope to continue to do so in the future.
  • Problem with PS2 playing Ass Worship 2/21/2002 9:04 PM
Make sure you're using the most current driver. If you don't have it already, pick up the official PS2 remote, as it has the latest version included with it (you'll have to save the file to your memory card). This only applies if you're using a PS2 that's older than one manufactured in Summer 2001. There are a few adult titles that caused problems with my PS2, but I haven't experienced AS many (there are still a few hiccups) since installing the new driver. If you have the most current driver, there's probably nothing you can do about it, at least until another update is available, and even then you never know. I have a Samsung player in the living room, but I usually use the PS2 or XBox (the only issue I've had with it is having to press t...
  • OZ screenshots 2/18/2002 11:44 PM
I'm pretty sure they are real. Most of the tattoos on the actors are real. Check out Dean Winters' appearance as the "fuck buddy" on "Sex & The City" and you'll see that ugly cowskull tat on his arm. And the guy above, Evan Seinfeld, is the lead singer of the metal band Biohazard. I think you have to have lots of tattoos to be in a metal band...lol
  • Queer As Folk Season 2 2/15/2002 3:12 AM
Yes, Ted's subplot is pretty lame...who goes to a webcam site where you don't see anything below the waist. I realize there are limits to what they can show, but when it appears that all you see is the guy's face and chest, please...though I do think that's the first time I've seen cum (real or synthetic) splattered across a guy in a somewhat mainstream show. As for Mike's guy, he is adorable, I think he played one of Lea Thompson's suitors on a few eps of "Caroline In The City." I guess that's two guys they paired her with who went gay...lol (The guy who played Richard came out in real life awhile ago, but did anybody not see that coming?) He also was one of Phoebe's guys on an ep of "Friends" where she's torn between h...
  • Welcome Newcummers! 2/15/2002 2:50 AM
I felt it was appropriate for me to post here, as I haven't been to the forum for about six months. Right after I moved in July, my poor old computer just finally gave out on me. When I could finally afford to replace it a few months later (moving pretty much sucks up a huge chunk of your nest egg), I had nothing but trouble, be it with the motherboard, cd-burner, software, you name it...auggh!! In any case, things seem to be working smoothly now and I'll definitely be more active once again, which would include reviews, of course. In any case, I've missed everybody here at ADVD and look forward to playing catch up on what's been going on.

From Planet Sex: quote: It's a prosthetic, just like Long John Silver's. Well, I'm not eating at that restaurant ever again! Just kidding with you. I'm not sure if they have branched out to Brazil, but that's a semi-popular fast food chain that serves fish here in the States. I'm presuming you meant Long Dong Silver? In any case, that does look like a phony pic. Something just not quite right there.
  • new to str8 porn - suggestions on where to start 7/2/2001 12:25 AM
As someone who dabbles in both types of features, I'm a little curious as to why you are wanting to check out straight porn. Are you just interested in seeing some of the more current stars, or just wanting to check an alternative? I'm not trying to be offensive in any way. But when you consider that one of the best-known male performers in porn is Ron Jeremy (a far cry from even a little bit hot, IMO), you can kinda see that "hot guys" are definitely optional in that segment of porn. For me personally, I watch straight porn for the girls, gay porn for the guys, and bi porn for both! I see you're planning to check out a bi film already, and that may be the preferable route, since the guys' looks are much more important in a bi fea...
  • 1500 Reviews and climbing 6/21/2001 12:19 AM
quote: Well, thanks in large part to all the new reviewers, ADT passed the 1500 mark this week. I hope more people jump in and start reviewing soon. Kudo's to Lunacy, Reason, Feels So Right, Black Coffee, Speelie, and all the other contributors. Thanks, but I think the fact that, as of this post, 414 of those reviews are yours, you deserve the applause. I do have to ask though...With over 400 reviews since September, where do you find the time? The mind boggles.

  • Reviews - getting started 6/16/2001 9:30 PM
quote: what i'll do is post a document you can download from the <link> . then you could fill in the document and cut and paste the whole thing back into the box on the submit a review page. The simple ability to cut and paste from another document would be a blessing for me. I have more than once opened a second browser window to look something up and accidentally closed my review window, or lost my connection, meaning I have to start all over again. It probably makes my review a bit more concise, but still, it can be a bit frustrating to lose everything I've written. If I don't lose it, I always go through it again to look for spelling/grammar, and make changes to improve it before I submit it. Not having to worry about getting cut off w...
  • What's the last dvd you saw? 6/15/2001 10:51 PM
Watching the original &quot;Fallen Angel&quot; now for review purposes. The last mainstream disc I watched was &quot;Shadow Of The Vampire.&quot; Spooky, eh? &quot;Feels so right, lovin' you, I'm so glad you're in my life&quot; -Janet
  • Rough gayporn 6/9/2001 12:28 AM
Most of the Titan titles seem to have some pretty rough stuff in them, too. I have watched parts of: &quot;River Patrol,&quot; &quot;Desert Train,&quot; and &quot;Tag Team,&quot; and they all have pretty rough sex. The first two have been reviewed already by netguy and joeblow69, and I'll be posting my own thoughts probably next week when I have a chance. &quot;Tag Team&quot; is the first &quot;erotic wrestling&quot; title I've seen, and while the wrestling is pretty lame, the sex is pretty nasty, complete with a few DPs, which seem to be fairly uncommon in gay porn (I've only seen it in one other title I can think of, one of the Stryker films). Anyway, they might be worth checking into as well. They seem to all be of fairly high quality, s...
