I don't think the customer should essentially be required to pay twice as your system proposes. I would say have a minimum contribution for the free DVD that is ten dollars above what would otherwise be charged by the performer, the performer pay the studio for the DVD out of the revenue stream at a steeply discounted rate covering their costs per unit and the system would then have a chance to work. The performer could then raise the amount wanted (in this example say $4000 for 400 DVDs) to cover the cost of th...

ControlFreak wrote: hmmm... You know, you mentioned the performer's website. Well, performers already have complete freedom on their website. They can shoot a downloadable or streamable scene on their website without involving 'the industry' per se. Each performer that has a website can conduct her own internal polling and shoot scenes for her website and charge what she wants for the 'premium scene'. And she doesn't have to use a high dollar male performer to perform the genre. Very true but the difference is, the performer doesn't have the backing of a major studio behind her in promoting her first scene in a genre so the market for that scene is very targeted. Only her most loyal fans would even know about the scene if it was just on he...

I have to disagree, giving the fans a voice and including them in the creative process is great for business (ever take a post-transaction survey?). Furthermore, sales would increase because people will want to see what they have invested in. Third party companies will get new business that otherwise would never exist. Finally, the personal income for the individual performers would increase as well and rightly so.

I agree with what everyone else has said. I was watching the original "Deep Throat" a few weeks back and there was an interview with one of the pioneering male actors of the time. He commented that Linda Lovelace became very bitter when she realized that the industry that she helped build had left her behind for new talent. What is truely amazing to me is when that 1 out of 1000 actually manages to make a career in this industry. Nina Hartley is a great example of a woman who has done very well in this industry for a long time. I think a lot of it has to do with the female performer in terms of her goals and if she's really wanting to make a career out it. It's like when you're new and hot you're in demand but there is risk of ov...

New member here but have been scanning the forum for a while now. It used to be said that the customer is always right but far too often nowadays this is not the case. Furthermore people will pay for what they want. With this in mind, I propose a new adult performer compensation system that would be mutually agreeable to all parties involved (studios, stars, and fans). Heres how it could work. Adult Performers Performers could use marketing research to find out if there is significant demand for a particular scene in a genre. A poll on their websites (if applicable), forums like this and retail sites like Adult Video Universe for example could be helpful in data collection. Then, using social media and their websites they could announce t...
