  I think part of the problem here is that, as in a formal debate, you need to define your terms; there are subtle (and not so subtle) differences between intelligent, intellectual, clever, cunning, wise, educated, sharp, shrewd, astute, quick, witty and plain ol' smart. I'm sure I could dredge up a few more if I cracked a thesaurus, but I'm too apathetic to bother. The point being, I know many people in the industry who could be described aptly by one or more of these terms, but they are each very distinct. FWIW

  I agree whole-heartedly about Sandra Romain. She's been at the top of my list of people I want to get in a major role for some time now. Sandra had a small supporting role in Upload that was a lucky accident. The part was originally supposed to be played by Trinity Post (who is also an excellent, very natural actor), but Trinity got sick and Sandra was a last-minute replacement. Sandra was very nervous about the two pages of dialogue, but showed up with her lines solidly memorized and gave me an extremely natural, fantastic performance. Luckily for me, I've been in touch with her about playing the villain in Daughter of the Wolf, a sword-and-sorcery epic I'm shooting for SexZ in Budapest in April, so I might finally get to use Sandra in a ...

  Hey guys. I checked with the home office, and the release of Black Rayne has been pushed back to March 16. I'm not exactly sure why, but I can tell you I'm very happy with the end result. This movie is nasty as hell (what else would you expect from Amber) and looks great.   True, but don't hold it against me if I'm wrong. It's not like Nic & I are drinking buddies. I don't think I've talked to him since the Rush premiere, and Kylie hasn't seen him since the premiere party for Dark Angels 2. That isn't to say it's a bad idea; it certainly isn't. I'm just not the director to tackle it.   You can add everything I've ever directed to your list, features and gonzo. I've used wide-angle lenses on occasion, but only for effect, never as a catch-all methodology. It's a fact of photography that the human face is more attractive when photographed at a longer lens; this has the effect of flattening out features and presents a more flattering image as a rule. I once asked a gonzo director why he shot everything with his wide... I aksed him if it didn't bother him that it made all the women look incredibly unattractive and bublous. He said, "yeah, but it makes the dicks look bigger." Hm. Silly me, I though porn was about the chicks...

  Wow, thanks ya'all. I'm honored. As for the Bathory project, it is definitely on hold rather than cancelled. And PL, I can certainly understand being disappointed in Icon if you were expecting Upload or Corruption. But it was never intended to be the same style of project as those movies. I always tell people comparing either of those to Icon to either of those is like comparing Apples and Oldsmobiles. Still, thanks a bunch for the compliments.
