Who would you suggest take their place? While I agree that they're not always indicitive of what's going on, neither are ANY award show, really. And AVN is pretty much the only game in town when it comes to industry magazines. They're *the* trade journal, like it or not... Websites haven't knocked them off that perch; not wil they. So who else you got? This isn't like Hollywood where there're guilds and unions (i.e the SAG Awards, Director's Guid, etc.) and a variety of critics organizations (i.e the Hollywood Foreign Press' Golden Globes, the Television Critics Awards) or networks with enough muscle (the MTV Movie Awards, etc.) You have XRCO but they're really not all that large nor influential. Best of luck. I'd shoot for the free DVDs, because, really, there's no market for your reviews. If sites like ADT, IAFD, CAVR, WCA, etc. are full of free reviews, who is going to pay you for yours? Do you have some sort of following we're not aware of that would make your reviews "moneyworthy?" If you want to earn money writing reviews, start a website, post your reviews and try to earn some affiliate bucks or subscription charges. But if you're hoping to write for a magazine AVN, Hustler, etc. you better have some writing samples to show them. If you're looking to be solely online, your best bet would be some sort of deal with a retailer, tho more and more of them are taking Amazon's lead and letting their visitors write the...

On the off-chance of being branded a MS fan, why use a program that you have to "relearn" every time? Is image re-sizing that difficult a task? If so, might I suggest using the <link> for WinXP? Right click on the picture, choose "Resize image", choose a standard size or chosoe your own, and you're done. It works it batches as well -- hightlight a folder's worth and re-size away. Cheers. I got a linksys which works well. I have a linksys card for the laptop which is good; and two netgear USB NICs for the kids computers and they seem to do OK as well. I don't like the Linksys software that they seem to foist on you -- atleast on my Win2K laptop they do. XP seems to handle its own wireless connections OK. I had nothing but heartache with a Microsoft USB wireless nic.
