I wouldn't read too much into the Limewire decision. Limewire is largely an anachronism based on a 10 year old file sharing platform Gnutella. Simply put, I don't know anyone who shares on Limewire anymore. With regards to pornography, the 2 most dominant ways to share are one-click file hosting sites (Rapidshare, Hotfile, Megaupload, Depositfiles etc) and tubesites. Does filesharing affect the creative industries? I would say the answer is a resounding yes. I provide piracy protection (removal from one click file hosting services, torrents etc) for a number of IFPI record label clients', smaller labels and a couple of pornographers. They simply wouldn't collectively employ my services if it didn't have a positive outcome for their busines...
