  thanks for the help, really helpful info...$250 + for a dvd player seems like a lot of money to throw down at the point...I saw a phillips dvd recorder in the store that look cool but that too was almost $300, so I guess I will just buy a cheap $59.00 dvd-rom for my pc instead.

  I bought some DVD's that I just found out are in PAL format, I am located in the US. I do not have a dvd player that can play this format...where can I get one? I would prefer one for my normal TV... can I buy one in the stores ? but if I cant... can any dvd-rom (i do not have one yet) for my pc play them (thought i heard that)? any help would be appreciated

  not sure if it matters but the www.TeensForCash.com and related sites are all streaming video you can not download and view later. To me it makes these sites useless!
