  Not just about increasing resolution, processes also include increasing framerate from 24fps to 60fps for example. Framerate does improve overall feel, also there are algorithms in Topaz to apply HDR, again all helps with the end result. Finally. film will have grain, the AI can remove this too.

  I've seen some very impressive vintage porn upscaled too, however my guess is that they've been upscaled from the original film (remember 70s to mid-80s would have been shot in film, whereas mid-80s and 90s probably VHS). Difference is the film is much higher resolution and so upscaling or polishing to 4K will yield excellent results whereas VHS is less than 500 lines of resolution and stored magnetically on tape so not perfect so it has much more to do. AI is kind of filling in the gaps in an intelligent way, but it can only guess so much. Have to say though, I've tried Topaz Video Enhancer and it is very good indeed, would buy it myself but the 299$ price tag is a bit out of budget.

  Yes completely agree that there is a risk on any backups being entirely on one location. Would love to consider a cloud approach but where I live only has 1MB up and 20MB down, soon will be on 900MB fibre though when its installed this year. So will check this out thank you for the advice.

  Yes Avidemux should do this, but if you find the clips are all different resolutions, codecs or framerates then you might need to use Handbrake to convert them into the same common format first. If you just want to play the clips one after the other then you could use Pornspective and create a playlist.

  Ah yes I forgot to add, I've three other drives (6TB, 6TB and 4TB) where I mirror the files to these as backup using FreeFileSync. I guess a poor mans RAID too :)

  I've used a RaspberryPi 4 to host two 8TB drives, each drive has 8 x 1TB TrueCrypt containers. I mount the TrueCrypt containers and then script Linux Symbolic links to make all folders appear under one root. Finally I mount the root as a network folder. Kind of a poor mans NAS but has served me well for years :)

  I use a product called Pornspective v2 and Pornspective ai, you can find out more from pornspective.org Definitely a much better way to organise your porn than a spreadsheet! Can take a little to setup but the AI tool automatically tags most of your content for you, so a must for large collections I think!!

  I'm not sure there is any one single way you can sort a large collection, but I tend to stick to a folder per Actress and then some for specific Studios. I still use an application called Pornspective v2 which handles all kinds of ways to sort your collection and also uses AI to help tag your content which has saved hours for me.   I've no hard media i.e. DVDs but I've a hard drive of around 6TB of the stuff! Love collecting videos and images and having them on hand ;). Problem is two things :- 1. Trying to Keep up to date with the actresses you like and not miss anything 2. Organising 6TB worth of porn. If you are familiar with these two issues then I suggest a really cool software called Pornspective. Solves both of those issues with ease and has lots more packing in terms of features.
