To the doubters, why would she lie? That's just it, we know so little at the present time. Not all things in this world are about money, for all we know there could have been a separate dispute between the two and Lily could have used this as a way to get back at him. Or she could be telling the truth 100%. Either way we don't know anything at this time except that (going off the revelations from Eliza Jane and Samantha Rone) he's seemingly a creep. An accusation has been made, however I find it odd that everyone is already assuming that he is guilty. Keep in mind that it isn't all clear cut, and we still do not have an account from Alan.
