  This is a very interesting philosophical question, especially since advances in technology are making the porn experience more "real" (e.g. HD, masturbation devices, etc...). Real sex and porn are, in my estimation, just different modalities of sex. Since I enjoy the immense variety and perversity that porn provides without the trappings of mundane existence (like having to convince someone to engage in a 3-some and/or do anal), I often find that a well cultivated porn experience is more gratifying than a roll in the hay. If in some future porn-utopia you could simulate experientially hyper-real sexual situations (i.e. super-porn), how many would still opt for regular sex?

  I agree with Irexs assessment that the industrys approach to IR porn is worn and unimaginative. What makes IR exciting? I suppose its different for each person, but for me (and I think many fans of the genre) it is the contrast between a beautiful (or innocent?) female with a black male because this combination is still relatively uncommon in society. Due to social conditioning we tend to react to this type of situation as if it had an air of taboo. Despite the liberal values publically espoused both in the US and Europe, IR retains a stain of forbiddenness, as exemplified by the so called Dodgers.
