  Give <link> or <link> a try. Haven't used them in a while, but they were the best at sending from abroad to the Republic and on many titles are quite reasonably priced. Only ever had 2 shipments taken by Customs, but do beware as they are cracking down more than they used to years ago. Try get stuff without cases, is best. Laser's Edge and Adult DVD Now are also quite good from the States.

  These were one of my favourite online DVD retailers. Then when they crashed last year, I still had some stuff on order with them. They &quot;issued&quot; me with credit, but after reading all the hoopla, I gave up. However, when DVD Import acquired them and a friend of mine tested them with a few small orders (and got the stuff) I thought I'd give them another shot. Especially as their prices were REALLY GOOD!! I should have known better. It appears that they have supposedly &quot;shipped&quot; my order -- after I sent them a stern e-mail -- but after reading on other boards, it appears as if this is a ruse by them. They supposedly shipped it more than two weeks ago, but nothing! It seems that anyone who got a shipping confirmation e-mail ...

  As far as I know they are. However, when I was looking to order, i actually found it alot easier to order from the States. Cheaper, too! And, they had better offers, as far as I remember.....

  It's hard to judge which is better, as both types have their flaws. But, I've generally found that the Adult DVD retailers who care, add significant protection. That being said, some dvds I've gotten with cases that have become &quot;floaters&quot; and which have been scratched as a result could be helped better by utilising a &quot;reinforcement&quot;. What I'm talking about is the little foam rings that often com as padding in CD/DVD blank spindles. When I buy blank discs, they often come with these small little white foam rings to stop the discs from moving on the spindles (especially if there is a little extra space between the top disc and the cover). I've used them myself when transporting discs, especially when the disc is loose ...

  Found this <link> in my surfing travels around the web, a long time ago. it would be ideal, except the fact that YOU CAN'T F**KING BUY THEM from this crowd. Their site only mentions &quot;partners&quot; who supply/sell in large quantities and for the ordinary consumer, like us online, you can't seem to buy the things. I even took the idea to a friend of mine who works for a printers locally and tried to get him interested in producing them (via licence or such), but never heard anything back on the subject. Actually, I think one of my local video/dvd rental shops uses some (or something similar) on their discs. If I could get a supply of them, I would put them on ALL my discs, in case of damage.   STEMCELL, I think this may be a response to the Smoking Ban. The pub trade has lost some of its business after this came into effect (although not as much as predicted) and since cigarettes and food mixed with alcohol in licensed premises was in a more limited amount of pubs in the past, now that the tobacco haze has lifted and has shown the true nature of what the inside of a pub looks like (and for that matter smells like), the proposal of food in pubs makes more sense to many more publicans. I think the government foresaw this as a likely outcome of the smoking ban, so researched this proposal. I think this is actually a good step forward, in many regards.   Yeah! but Customs and the Gardai are different kettles of fish. I suppose it depends on how you catch them on any particular day. however, i get the impression that customs here DO NOT like to have their authority questioned. If you argue with them, they get their backs up and you're fucked....

  Irish Customs are bad, if they cop that you're importing porn. Generally! I've had two orders confiscated in the past. Both from EroDVD, but thankfully this was a few years ago. Nothing since then, thank fuck! I've ordered a couple of hundred titles over the past few years from mainly Five Star, Adult DVD Now, Laser's Edge, EroDVD, DVDOO.dk and one or two others. Mostly it's no problem, but I've been lucky. However, let me relate this horror story to all. A friend of mine got a letter and phone call from Irish customs this week. They had stopped the first shipment he ordered in nearly a year (11 Fiona Cooper dvds). Thing is, after they sent the titles to the Irish Censor for check-up, they're now considering a PROSECUTION!!!   After reading some of the articles on this a while back, some people were predicting that hybrid HD-DVD/Blu-Ray DVD players could be the most likely outcome for this &quot;war&quot;. both sides have invested too much in their own side that it seems simpler to produce a player or recorder that would play or record both formats. This may be analagous to the DVD-R vs. DVD+R situation of recent times. Most of these now support both formats and let the user choose which types of disc to buy. Seeing as many of the inherent specifications of both camps are the same (or at least not similar enough to be easily adapted), this seems a more prudent course of action. It wpould also mean users could use both types of disc for different purposes, but ...

  From reading some of the articles on various sites, maybe a compromise on the formats will have to be reached. Both camps have invested a lot into this venture and if one wins out over the other, who knows what will happen? (Same as with DVD-R and DVD+R, I suppose) I'd guess that eventually we're going to get players (or recorders) that will be compatible with all the formats, both present and future (at least on the high end) and since the discs seem to all be the same size, we won't have to throw away our existing collections. At least, that's my opinion..............

  Scootmeister, friend of mine spotted these guys and was wondering if you could supply a few more details about your dealings with them. Do they send boxes or in plain packaging like Ero. These will be going to Ireland not UK, some Customs is different here (and a lot more stringent). Thanks!

  A friend of mine who got their catalogue in the post every month said the same thing to me that they had closed down. Or were closing down (or something about shifting to France or some such). Just checked the <link> and it still seems to be live, with no mention of closing down!?!? Anyone else know what's going on?????
