  Tips I want to share about my Panasonic DVD recorders. I had some problems with recordings and would get a message that my blank disc was unrecordable. Threw away about 5 discs before I realized my recorders may have suffered corruption from a power blackout and needed to be rebooted. I remember reading that all you had to do was press and hold down the on/off button for a few seconds instead of unplugging the unit for a few minutes. Didn't know if I was supposed to do this when it was on or off. I did it both times. Seems you're supposed to do this when it is off. What happens is that it comes on and then goes back to off. Now my disc can record okay. Good thing I didn't empty the trash and was able to recover the salvagable blanks. Anyway...

  Will someone please explain what the difference is between DVD-R and DVD+R? What is the argument about? Why were 2 differnt kinds made in the first place? My 4 panasonic DVD recorders record onto DVD-R and the pictures look good. The degradation in picture quality of a copy is minimal.

You work hard to produce great shows to maintain your reputation as one of the best in the business and some cheapo smuck who manufactured the defective blanks messes up the mass DVD burner company who really did everything right. Then Evil Angel has to take the heat and loss. Yes, I understand what business is all about. Did insurance cover this kind of quality loss? So frustrating. Hence the saying: How can you fly with Eagles when you work with Turkeys?

  Oh yeah, I love the one-minute skip button. Never saw any of the political commercials. Fast little machines. You choose from 5 different recording speeds for your choice of clarity. Yes, they got 3-wire component video cables, S-VHS, or plain RCA cable outputs. REad everything I posted. Very informative.
