  I can't answer definitively but in my experience "creativity" comes with a price. I was a working camera operator for quite a while. I know most people think shooting porn take no more than a guy with a camera but there is more to it than that. Some of us were pretty good at shooting and even took pride in our work and creativity. As there is less and less money to be made the producers pay less and less. That often means people like me move on and those will less skills and less pride in their work take over - more often than not the director or producer picks up a camera. Some studios are still making product and new ones are always jumping in hoping they have the formula that will generate a profit.
