For those sellers on ADM who choose to ship internationally, the rate class required by ADM's terms stipulates USPS International Priority Shipping (less expensive rate classes have an unacceptable level of lost shipments for a marketplace style venue). As of January 27th, the flat rate for USPS International Priority Shipping is $23.95 (outside of Canada). For some context, in 2012 this rate was $16.95, and in 2011 it was $13.25, so this rate has nearly doubled in the past two years. If you're in Canada, then the shipping fee charged would be slightly higher than actual costs (the flat rate to Canada is $19.95). This is due to the single price tier for international shipping that ADM uses for the sake of simplifying the shipping process fo...

Hi pierre78, Unfortunately, we share your frustration on this one. On January 27th USPS raised their International Priority flat rate from $16.95 to $23.95, forcing us to pass this increased cost on to our international customers. Just to be clear, this is certainly not an increase that either ADM or our sellers are profiting from. We certainly recognize that this USPS fee increase disadvantages us with international buyers, but unfortunately this isn't anything that we have control over. Regards, Gary pierre78 wrote: As I'm an international buyer, I know I should've posted in <link> . But I chose this topic because it's the most &quot;active&quot; one For me, buying on ADM is becoming less and less advantageous with time because of the unj...

Okay, I had no interest in litigating your complaint on a public forum, I was only offering to review your situation with a fresh set of eyes, but I just got the details of your case from customer support, and they certainly warrant a rebuttal to your accusations. First of all, your new seller's account was automatically suspended because an older customer account of yours under a different username (but same email) was closed back in 2002 due to the credit card charge for an order you placed having been disputed. Secondly, I see the following response to your support ticket from our customer support staff sent on 10/11/2012, alerting you that your new account was being (and remains till now) restored: This account was closed due to a previ...

Hi pornologist -- from the scenario you're describing, it sounds like something about your account has unfortunately erroneously alerted one of our fraud filters, triggering a suspension and review of your account. If you will please submit submit a support ticket on ADM to our technology queue, I'll make sure this review is expedited and your account is fully restored. Thanks, ADM Tech Support. pornologist wrote: I guess I'm fucked, I wish I had read this thread prior to opening a seller's account with Adult DVD Marketplace. I open a seller's account two days ago, I listed about 50 dvds and had 4 discs sale in the first day, I shipped the first three DVDs and was in the process of shipping the 4th disc when my account was abruptly closed. ...

Just to quickly hop in and clarify, this is certainly not our policy, it was a mistake by a new support agent. DVD cases do get damaged in transit on occasion, and we would normally facilitate a solution more equitable to both parties. We fully credited jerseyguy back for the refund last night when made aware of the situation. There obviously shouldn't be a need for this, but if anyone has an issue that needs a second look, I'll again encourage submission of a ticket to the &quot;Technology Related Issues&quot; queue where it will get prompt consideration. Thanks, Adult DVD Marketplace Support ZZZERO wrote: First of all, if it's just a case damaged why does the buyer get a full refund? A new case costs how much? 50 cents? A dollar? I've ne...
  • Adult DVD Marke Customer Service is nonfunctional. 5/25/2012 3:02:46 PM
Hi jerseyguy -- I sent a direct reply yesterday and didn't get a response, so I'm going to post this publicly -- I sincerely apologize on behalf of ADM for the issues you've been having with support. We're experiencing a great deal of turnover in the support department, which is resulting in both a big backlog of tickets that need assistance, and apparently (based on your issue), impacting the effectiveness of the support that is being provided. We recognize that this is a huge issue (our site has historically been extremely focused on customer support), and we're taking major efforts to improve the situation. In the meantime, if you can please re-submit a support ticket through the &quot;Contact Us&quot; form with &quot;Technology Related ...

astroknight wrote: Most sellers who upgrade shipping say so in the description, but I think you've pointed out the biggest downside of ADM. I really wish they'd give people the option to upgrade to Priority Mail. I just don't know how feasible it is to have something like $2 for the first item from a seller for Media Mail or $5 or $5.50 for Priority Mail. IIRC, that's about what half.com and Amazon's Marketplace does... We have actually recognized for some time the need to offer more choices for shipping on our site, although this enhancement has not been a high priority given that most of our orders consist of individual items that are typically shipped via First Class anyway. However, after reading the sentiments expressed in this thread...

Anteros wrote: Generally, what kind of garenttees (if any) do used dvd retailers offer? I've looked at used games and movies at Blockbuster and I doubt many of them would work properly. At Adult DVD Marketplace we fully guarantee that all our used DVDs are of the quality that is described on the site... any defective DVD can be returned for a full and immediate refund. Keep in mind that most of our used DVDs are sold by individual owners who have only watched them a couple of times and have taken very good care of them in the process, so this has not been a problem for us. -------- Adult DVD Marketplace www.adultdvdmarketplace.com

Let me clarify that after having reviewed these prior threads, Clay's response is specifically referring to AdultDVD2000 and not Adult DVD Marketplace (wanted to be clear given the title of this thread). AdultDVD2000 has sold over 600 of these sale-priced DVDs since they started listing on our site earlier this month, and we haven't received a customer complaint or negative feedback yet. I was actually a bit skeptical of the low prices myself when they first listed them, so I placed my own anonymous test order which arrived as advertised in three days. Our policy is that...

Our site is modeled after Amazon Marketplace and Half.com... to add a listing all you have to do is select the title from our database, and then enter the price and condition of your DVD... the process is very fast and easy. And, you pay nothing for listing your DVD... you only pay us a small commission when and if you have a buyer.

We are still working to build up an inventory of used gay titles on <link> . Those titles that have been listed have sold very quickly, but we still have a higher ratio of buyers then sellers on the gay side of the site. For anyone who is interested in selling their used titles on our site, we are offering a significant discount on our commission rate to Adult DVD Talk members. Please contact me (gary@adultdvdmarketplace.com) for more info on the reduced commission, or with any suggestions on how we can make the site more useful. -------- Adult DVD Marketplace www.adultdvdmarketplace.com

We've been selling copies of &quot;Buttwoman Iz Bella!&quot; regularly all day long today... if that's indicative of what's going on throughout the industry, Elegant Angel must be very pleased with the exposure this has brought them. Edited by - Gary ADM on 1/24/2003 6:09:38 PM

We recently launched Adult DVD Marketplace to fulfill precisely the need youve described. We hope to serve a role similar to Half.com or Amazon Marketplace for the adult DVD market, connecting buyers and sellers directly together through an online marketplace. We initially sought out online retailers willing to sell new DVDs through our site in order to quickly build up a large enough inventory of titles to make the site interesting. Our first focus was on straight titles, and although weve only been live for a little over six weeks, we are now beginning to see a large buildup of used titles on the straight side to augment the new titles (keep in mind that we havent been live long enough to get picked up by the search engines yet, so most...
