With little planning or prospects, the naive, bubbly blonde, Candie Evans, bounces her way to California by way of Ohio, looking for beaches, fun in the sun, and just about anything that comes her way. Of course, what comes her way is a stream of men and women alike who are looking to use the innocent lass for food, money, and sex. Fortunately for the airy Evans, she's typically too dopey to really care and blithely moves on from one sexual situation to the next, always managing to see the glass as half-full. How she'll ultimately make it in a land of such predators, and whether she'll figure out what it takes to fit in remain the questions of the day. Such is the case in "California Fever", an overall-good, 1987 release from director Jack Genero and Cal Vista Classics.
