I've been a fan of Jacky St James work for a long time. So when I heard she was doing a psychological thriller inspired by the movie Single White Female, I was interested to see what she could do. This is one of her early features working for Sweet Sinner. Which is a shame because it means breaking up with her usual cinematographer Eddie Powell. For me, Jacky St James without Eddie Powell is like Steven Spielberg without John Williams; it's just not the same. Plus Eddie's style of cinematography is usually dark with a lot of shadows, which (when you're making a thriller) is perfect. Luckily Jacky still manages to make a pretty good feature. The writing, directing and acting all great as usual. However there are some slight problems with the way the movie is executed. And when you're directing a thriller, execution is everything. In Writer/Director Jacky St. James' CUM INSIDE ME VOL. 3: SEX AND THE EX, we come to meet two sisters Karla(Karla Kush) and Alexa(Alexa Grace), who are both on the opposite side of the ex spectrum. To explain, Karla is dating Alex(Alex Jones), and although it has been a while since they first began dating, the two of them have not yet had sex. Why? The answer is simple, it's because every time that Karla and Alex aim to get intimate, they are always interrupted by a phone call from Alex's ex-girlfriend Lily(Lily Jordan). And when it comes to Alexa, her story is quite different, as for her, she is the ex-girlfriend whom seems to not be quite ready to give up her ex, Michael(Michael Vegas). As the girls converse and recall the past, we the viewer, also see that past, as we also go on a journey of self-discovery, via the two sisters, as they either come to terms, or let the past go, making way for the future that awaits them. With the film, WOMEN GETTING EVEN, Writer/Director Jacky St. James takes us back in time - to the '80s, for a story about a woman competing in the thriving world of realty. In the film, Kara(Gia Paige) is a young woman who works at a realty company called A1 Realtors. Unfortunately however, it's a company both overseen and overrun by men . Kara herself, is an independent woman, who wants to get ahead and move to the top of the company. But there is just one problem. It seems that she is being purposely held down by the men that compete with her. The male staff of the company get the best leads, as she getsscraps. Kara has no idea how to advance. But it is after witnessing one of her coworkers, having sex on the job, that one comes to her. [read the full review]
