Julie Meadows Movies
On Wednesday December 18, 2002 I had a chance to sit down with Julie Meadows at the club, Splendor in Houston, TX.
This was really a thrill for me, as I am a huge fan of Julie and her work.
You are originally from TX correct? What part, do you get back often?
Yes, I'm from Texarkana originally. I get back there a few times a year.
Do you still have friends there, and do they know what you are doing now?
Yes I still have friends there and they do know what I do now.
As far as you know, are they all Ok with what you do?
As far as I know, yes. Nobody has ever said anything to me to suggest otherwise.
What were you doing before you got into the porn industry?
I was dancing at a club in Dallas.
How did you break into the industry? Who helped you get in?
I met director, Michael Raven at the club one night, and he helped me get into the industry.
Who are some of your favorite male stars to work with?
I like working with Nick Manning and Steve Hatcher.
What about Evan stone, I think you two have great chemistry on film?
I love Evan, he's a great guy, but he's a bit too large.
Who are some of your favorite directors to work for?
I like to work with Jane Hamilton aka Veronica Hart and Chloe. I like female directors.
Yes, I really like working with Bud Lee as well
When did you sign with VCA, and how long is the contract for?
I signed with VCA in 2002 and my contract is for 1 year at a time.
How do you feel about performing under contract vs. non-contract?
I like having the contract. I like it for security reasons of knowing I have upcoming features this year.
How about condom vs. no condom?
I like condom better. I think it's safer, with all the diseases these days.
What do you think of the titles of some of the movies, esp. comps released lately with names such as "Julie Meadows" AKA filthy Whore?
Well, that title is really rude. When that was presented to me to approve that was not the title they gave me. It was something like The Best of Julie Meadows, so I approved that. I didn't even know Legend changed the name until I was a signing at a store and someone brought the cover for me to sign. I think the people at Legend are a bunch of dicks for changing the name like that.
Who are some of your favorite bands?
I love Stone Temple Pilots and System of a Down. Those are my favorites.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love to play scrabble. And I'm good at playing too.
Do you have any pets?
No I don't have any pets.
How do you like to relax when you're not working?
I like to watch movies and read
What are some of your favorite movies?
The Big Lebowski is great, and I also really liked Oh Brother, Where art Thou.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite scenes you've been in?
My favorite is the scene I did in
Internal Affairs 2, it was the only internal cumshot I've ever done on film. I don't have any scenes that I can think of that I didn't enjoy.
What do you see yourself doing in the future, after you aren't shooting scenes anymore, possibly direct?
Well, I'm really not sure. I would possibly leave the industry and go to college.
Please tell me a little about the process Plastic Fantasy used to create this action figure? (Laser scanning, are they hand painted, etc…)
I went to their studio and they scanned me with this laser scanner. The figures are made to scale. I'm not sure if the figures are hand painted or not.
Do you remember the first scene you were in? Who was it with? How nervous were you?
My first scene was with Ed Powers in Dirty Debutantes 94. I was a little nervous but I got over it, and had a great time.
Do you watch porn and do you watch your own scenes to see how they look?
No, I don't watch porn. I don't even watch my own scenes.
What upcoming projects do you have plans for?
Well, I have a movie
Lost Hienie, that's about to come out.
And who is in that with you?
Just to name a few people, Kristal Summers, Chris Cannon, and Ian Daniels, and there's others as well.
When you were young, what did you want to do with your life? When did you consider porn as a career?
I wanted to be a psychiatrist ever since junior high. I considered porn in the summer of 1998, right after I quit dancing.
I know you and Tawny Roberts boxed back in Sept. and you knocked her out. Was that fun?
No, I love Tawny. I didn't really enjoy beating her up. But after there was a kick ass concert we got to see. So that was great.
(note, the next few questions, Julie took my paper and wrote the answers, so these are exactly what she wrote.)
What's your feeling on the recent raids and arrests of Max Hardcore, Seymoore Butts, and JM Productions? Do you feel some porn just goes a bit too far in what they're showing?
It's not my thing. Can't really say if it's wrong or not. They're consenting adults, so…
