Review brief: Although not Blake's best work, this still works for anybody who's sick of the style used in more porn and wants a fix on the artistic side. Tori Black and Sadie West provide a bit of a framework for the scenes here, which give plenty of girl on girl, solo, and tease action as well as mixing in a few straight scenes. The technical aspects look as good as ever, and there's also a bit of effort put into the extras with a few trailers and bonus scenes. This is a pretty good release.

Review brief: This is an erotic movie that tries to pass itself off as porn. Andrew Blake fancies himself as a great director which prompts him to put together schlock like this.

Review brief: This is a visually stunning release with Andrew Blake showing off his artistic eye once again while bringing in some great rope work and bondage themes. It's also a compilation release, which the boxcover makes far from clear, and stalls out a little because of it. The technical aspects are every bit as strong as one would expect from Andrew Blake, and there's also some nice effort put into the extras. This is a hot release that would have been all the better if it had made it clear that there's nothing new here.

Review brief: ANDREW BLAKE-FIVE STARS (2009, Studio A) is a nearly two hour compilation of some terrific scenes by Andrew Blake.

Review brief: This is a fantastic compilation. You get eighteen great Andrew Blake scenes with stars such as Sasha Grey, Janine Lindemulder, Julia Ann, Dita Von Teese, Tera Patrick, Aria Giovanni, and Dahlia Grey along with the care of letting you know who's in each scene and where the scenes come from. The technical aspects are very impressive and only held back by a non-anamorphic transfer for most of the movie while the extras soar due to Andrew Blake giving a commentary for most of the movie. This is easily one of the best compilations I've seen and one that I can't help but highly recommend.

Review brief: This is a unique and different movie. There's a story to the movie, but it's handled very artistically due to music being the only audio in the movie. Paola Rey does a fantastic job through the movie and is nicely helped by the rest of the cast. The technical aspects are well done, but sadly there's no effort put into the extras. This is a good movie, but with it barely lasting and hour and no effort being put into the extras I just can't get too excited about it.

Review brief: This release gives you most everything you should expect from Andrew Blake. The girls are beautiful and are put forward with an artistic and creative style that is well known for even drawing in those who want their action much more graphic and hard. The technical aspects are great and play into that visual presentation, but sadly theres no effort put into the extras to help out the overall DVD. If you want short scenes with girls being presented artistically, this release is well worth checking out.

Review brief: CLOSE-UPS Read astroknight's review first for the details Andrew Blake's "Close-ups" is by far my favorite adult movie I've watched all year In recent months I've been finding gonzo porn boring to the point of tears. There's just nothing new under the sky, no ounce of originality. When I do watch gonzo I often find myself fast-forwarding through most of it- skipping to the anal, skipping to the anal doggy, the anal reverse cowgirl... to the pop-shot.... I'm constantly searching for anything even remotely different, to no avail. It's counter-intuitive that I would find respite from this jaded existence of loophole porn and masturbation in something so softcore. For someone who's always skipping to the anal parts of a movie, I was surprised I could like something that's almost entirely devoid of anal action.

Production Date: 7 / 21 / 2004 Director: Andrew Blake Cast: Lorraine (aka Tall Goddess), Ginger Jolie, Charlie Laine, Jacqueline, Nicole Loren, Paola Rey, Jean Val Jean, The Short Story Initial Expectations: Blake can do some very hot stuff, but theres times he just gets a little too artistic or soft for me. Having Lorraine in this one tips me over to the more hopeful side for this one. Initial Reaction: Its pretty hot and has all the style one would expect from Andrew Blake. Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting style over substance Who Should Avoid It: Anybody whos more interested in how dirty sex can be than how beautiful women can be or who wants plenty of boy - girl sex The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Andrew Blake, the technical aspects are fantastic. Theres no audio other than the music, which normally annoys me, but with Blakes style it doesnt work too bad for me. The video is near flawless.

Review brief: After reviewing "The Fashionistas", I decided that it was time for me to review my other favorite porno movie. "Hidden Obsessions" is an incredible presentation, and anyone who is familiar with Andrew Blake's work knows about his style of porn. He has created some of the most visually spectacular movies ever made. With this movie, he is at his best. It's an awesome showcase of cinematography and music, which makes it an incredibly beautiful movie. The movie is about a writer (Janine Lindemulder) who is hired by a collector to write erotic stories, and each scene is a visual depiction of a particular story. A woman (Heather Hart) comes home from work, and she is having an affair with her boss (Steve Drake). There are lots of closeups in this scene as well as soft lighting. The music is soft jazz, which fits perfectly with the action. Janine sits by her pool while using a laptop. She then fingers herself as inspiration for her next story. This is interspersed with the story itself, which features her and another woman (Julia Ann) using an ice dildo.

Review brief: For people like me who enjoy Andrew Blake's recent movies, Body Language is another high-aesthetic tour de force--with a twist. To his typically artistically creative and luxurious settings, high-fashion fetishy garb, and sublimely beautiful women, Blake this time adds several explicit peeing scenes. Viewers who have not liked his recent films, whether because they find them boring, too soft-core, or overly focused on lesbian, rather than hetro sexual activity, and viewers who find peeing scenes a turn-off, will probably not enjoy Body Language. Those, like me, who think Blake is one of the great erotic filmmakers at work today, should find this another masterpiece. Peeing seems increasingly commonplace in adult films today, whether in the guise of "squirting" or in explicit scenes often removed from sexual activity, presumably for legal reasons. Blake's movies have for years suggested peeing without showing it. The more obvious early examples can be found in "Private Property," "Paris Chic" and "Wet." More recent examples can be found in "Secret Paris" and "Hard Edge".

Im hoping this is one of them. Initial Reaction: Its pretty, but also pretty shallow. Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants art and beauty over hearing cocks splashing in and out of any available orifice Who Should Avoid It: Anybody with a list of movies they hate because theyre artsy fartsy foreign bullshit (yes, Blake is American, but his style is definitely artsy fartsy and might be considered foreign) The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, or at least it seems to be. Its kind of hard to tell with how the music dominates the audio.

Review brief: A lot of people wonder about the movie Aria. They wonder things like, Is it porn? Is it an artsy fartsy type porn?, or is it just Aria stripping around with no contact with another man or woman? Well I assure you, its NOTHING like that, yet it is. I will explain. Unless you have been living under a rock, you should know who Aria Giovanni is. A beautiful Italian woman with a natural body (you dont see those anymore) and a real passion for using her eyes as a way to make your heart jump. Of course she shows her naked body, but focus on the eyes and you will be begging for more. Anyway, the movie, Aria is of course one of Andrew Blakes so called masterpieces of using beautiful women with elevator music and some how forming an erotic experience everybody can enjoy. Well, Aria was good, but it wasnt great. I will give my pros and cons of this particular movie. PROS: -Aria Giovanni is SUPER hot in this movie, along with the luscious Adrianna Sage, who happens to get a facial in this movie, always excellent in my opinion.

Review brief: Now that's more like it! After the disappointment of "Justine" and "Adriana", Andrew Blake is back on form with "Hard Edge", a return to the hardcore erotica style of movies like "Wet" and "High Heels". There is still a good deal of the fetishistic imagery that he's known for, and which overwhelmed his last two movies in particular, but this time we get more of what we paid for - beautiful girls with little or no clothes on, playing with themselves or each other and occasionally getting fucked silly. Those beautiful girls are the strongest lineup in a Blake movie since his Anita Blonde period. Shining out are blonde Kelle Marie and frequent-dyer Justine, but brunettes Nike, Adriana and Jessie sizzle. Faith Adams enjoys some good old-fashioned rumpy-pumpy with Julian, when for the first time in a number of pictures, there is some male involvement in the main feature.

Review brief: Andrew Blake's "Adriana" is a disappointment and a continuation of the tailing-off that his movies have made in the past couple of years from their fetishistic high of editions such as "High Heels" and "Exhibitionists". Fetish - well, that's the problem, isn't it. Earlier Andrew Blake titles traded on his work for Penthouse, and they were a solid mix of truly beautiful women and genuinely erotic scenarios. There was plenty of stylish nudity, erotically-styled costumes and beautiful women finger-fucking. You'd get a token male who'd pork one of the ladies - usually as a punishment or to show her who was boss, but proceedings tended not to be in-your-face. It was like Penthouse but with fucking. Like the two films that have preceded it, ("Justine" and "The Villa"), "Adriana" is moving away from that style into the realms of mild BDSM and the result is not very erotic. Connoisseurs of BDSM - of which I am most definitely not a fan - will undoubtedly find "Adriana" too tame, and fans of Blake's earlier works will probably find the movie too fetishistic.
