Golden Age Of Porn, The: Serena

Release date: 9/5/2005
Reviewed on: 5/25/2015 by fu_q

Starring: Serena
Studio: Gentlemens

Review brief: Highlighting one of the classical beauties and true sexual goddesses of the 1970's era of adult films, "The Golden Age of Porn: Serena" from Gentlemen's Video certainly delivers the goods. Indeed, despite its short running length and handful of scenes, this compilation packs a punch, providing one solid Serena sequence after another. From dirty, boundary-pushing S & M to more traditional boy-girl and girl-girl, every sequence is a winner.

Golden Age Of Porn, The: Teri Weigel

Review brief: Starring a beautiful adult industry legend who possesses the rare distinction of having been both a Playboy Playmate (April, 1986) and a Penthouse model, "The Golden Age of Porn: Teri Weigel" from Gentlemen's Video truly does offer up a delightful specimen of the female form. Unfortunately, it suffers from poor scene choice...particularly for a compilation...and this results in its ultimate mediocrity.

Review brief: Kidnapped and indoctrinated into the pervy ways of an affluent sex club, a young woman finds herself the unwitting subject and star of a hardcore stage show in "Behind the Green Door", a 1972 release from the Mitchell Brothers. A true classic of adult cinema if ever there were one, this production features one of the most stunning (and natural) stars of the Golden Age, the original Ivory Snow girl herself...Marilyn Chambers.

Golden Age Of Porn, The: Chessie Moore

Reviewed on: 5/17/2015 by fu_q

Starring: Chessie Moore

Review brief: Showcasing none other than the "Duchess of Down and Dirty" herself, "The Golden Age of Porn: Chessie Moore" from Gentlemen's Video is most certainly a nasty (...and, therefore, laudable...) little compilation of its star's body of work. Indeed, in its short running time, this release manages to include two hefty double-anal penetrations (DAPs), a mini-gangbang, some interracial action, and a fair bit of straight fucking. This all owes itself, of course, to Ms. Chessie Moore, whose filmography and list of knotty, sexual feats in this dog-eat-dog world reads like a porno version of "Ripley's Believe it or Not".

Review brief: It's all about the busty, brunette legend of adult films, Christy Canyon, in "The Golden Age of Porn: Christy Canyon, Vol. 1", a carnal compilation from Gentlemen's. While short on material and length, what is presented is nostalgically naughty and worthy of a watch, as it features the lovely, big-breasted Christy in each of its scenes.

Review brief: Playing Mara, tall and leggy Cody Nicole bleaches her hair blonde and struts her way to a terrific performance in Joe Sarno's STRAY CATS from 1984. This fine 85 minute feature also stars cute, frizzy haired Brooke Fields playing Jane as she deals with her bookie husband Wilson (Joey Silvera) and his straying ways. In typical Joe Sarno fashion, this flick deals more with the relationship between the two female leads as male characters mostly are at the command of Mara, a very sexually liberated writer, who always has a guy or two dropping by her apartment. Standard frame. No condoms.

Review brief: It's a flashback to 1939 when a mainstream studio's old porno reels are discovered, dusted off, and screened in "Hollywood Confidential: Secret of Stage Five". An overall good, nostalgic release from VCA, this 1983 fuck-flick features two young actresses, Karen Summer and Cara Lott, who would ultimately go on to star in literally hundreds of X-rated films between the two of them and who would also both achieve Hall of Fame status over at AVN.

Review brief: In a post-nuclear fallout world, what's left of humanity finds itself segregated into two camps--the rare "positives", who are still able to perform sexually, and the "negatives", who fall physically ill if they attempt to partake in even the slightest intimacy. Of course, life isn't roses for either group, as the "positives" are impressed into performing in shady dive bars filled with leering, creepy "negatives", and the "negatives" find themselves desperately yearning for that which they can't attain. Such is the case in "Cafe Flesh", a classic, early-80's, punk-fueled flick from Rinse Dream and VCA.

Review brief: Joe Sarno (here as Otis Hamlin) writes and directs THE TROUBLE WITH YOUNG STUFF (1976) as farm girl Alice Anne (Crystal Sync) takes in her younger cousin Matilda (Jenny Baxter) who disrupts the order between the two couples living in the apartment. Sarno has been down this road before creating terrific features (both hard and soft core) that use an oversexed female as the catalyst for most of the film's sexual activities. In this hardcore production, he mixes lesbian encounters with blowjob and some straight sex action as the out-of-work female characters carry on in their bedrooms with little time spent outside their apartment. 1 hour 36 minutes. Standard frame.

Review brief: The mischievous, barbarian chieftan, Randy Spears, and his hell-raising horde will stop at nothing to rend a powerful, magical crystal from the hands of its rightful owners in "The New Barbarian", a very good, 1990 release from VCA and Henri Pachard. With its inexplicable ability to bring about time-travel, this sexually-fueled gem is certainly a prize worth seeking...and, for Victoria Paris and her peaceful people, a prize worth protecting. A blend of sex and (mild) violence ensues, as the two groups wrestle for control of the piece. Harking back to the days of the old barbarian films of the 1980s while concomitantly mixing in that same era's pornographic charm, this one is most certainly rife with nostalgic value. The sex is also steamy...again, in that 80s style...and seeing Victoria Paris sex it up in her prime is always a welcomed occurrence. For the right crowd--fans of 80s fantasy, porno nostalgia, Victoria Paris, and / or quirky features--this one is worthy.

Review brief: This year marks the 40th anniversary of the production of "The Opening of Misty Beethoven", the 1970's adult film classic from director Radley Metzger and VCA. Starring Constance Money as a young prostitute whom the late Jamie Gillis chances upon while plying her trade in a Parisian theater, this flick traces her journey from an erotically uninspired bore to a talk-of-the-town, world-class sexpot. Indeed, under Gillis' tutelage and with his wealthy friend's (Jacqueline Beudant's) fortune, Money transforms from a hapless, young harlot unwilling to suck a dick to a seasoned pro, capable of pleasuring a group of men, turning homosexuals with her charms, and ultimately seducing the most powerful name in men's publishing and his mistress (Gloria Leonard).

Review brief: Pretty Peaches is a dark comedy that is done within the adult medium. The story is interesting and the film was well made. The limited edition Blu-ray/DVD combo pack that Vinegar Syndrome has released is absolutely amazing and should be a must buy for any fans of the film.

Review brief: When a handful of the brunette goddess, Racquel Darrian's, friends stop by to partake in a big payout treasure hunt, the only booty that they ultimately find is their own...which suits them all just fine. Such is the case in "Racquel's Treasure Hunt", a fairly standard--though still fun--1989 release from VCA.

Review brief: It's 80s punk-kink to the max when the lovely ladies of Jamie Gillis' and Jack Baker's freaky escort agency don their headphones and take in the intoxicating tunes of their new wave music. With the sexy sounds both impairing their judgment and overriding their inhibitions, these young women can (and will) do just about anything...and their assorted customers are most certainly the winners. Such is the case in the Dark Brothers' classic production, "New Wave Hookers", from VCA Pictures.

Review brief: Bill Eagle's TEMPTATIONS (1976) follows an old voyeur Howard Hugh (Jake Teague) and his personal assistant Raymond (John Leslie) cruising the streets with stops for the old guy to watch couples sucking and fucking throughout the first half of the flick. Enter his wife Rochelle (busty and beautiful Jennifer Welles) who discovers a video tape of a threesome (including Raymond) then makes a tape of her own in this terrific xxx comedy from the classic era. Standard frame. 80 minutes.

Review brief: Kemal Horulu directs and edits WOMAN IN LOVE (1980, Caballero Home Video) with the lovely Laurien Dominque playing Christine Warren, a bored wife, who breaks from her dull hubby and their life on Long Island for a new job and other encounters in Manhattan. In a major role, Vanessa De Rio plays Simone Foster, a sex crazed catalyst for most of the sexual shenanigans that Christine encounters. Cinematographer Larry Revine beautifully captures the indoor and outdoor adventures of Christine as she must decide between two very different life styles. Standard frame. 85 minutes.

Review brief: Sex Wish is a gritty, and at times disturbing, adult take on Death Wish which fails at being erotic however works as an adult feature film. The poor picture quality of this disc hinders the release and makes the Cal Vista / VCX release of the film the one to look for instead.

Review brief: The Young Marrieds collection from Alpha Blue Archives, fully titled The Young Marrieds Plus the Lost Films of Alice Friedland Five-Film Collection, brings Ed Wood's believed to be lost film The Young Marrieds along with the films Kiss My Analyst, Analyze Your Sex, and The Adventures of Flash Beaver. Discerning readers will note the list only includes four films, not five as the full box title states. The obvious highlight of the collection for many interested people will be the only hardcore film on the release The Young Marrieds, being one of Ed Wood's lost films, which honestly is a rather disappointing feature. Analyze My Sex is honestly not worth watching by anyone for any reason. Kiss My Analyst was not an awful but has a sub-par transfer. The Adventures of Flash Beaver was an awful film with a transfer that was not of watchable quality.

Review brief: Behind the Green Door: The Sequel is an inferior film to its predecessor. This film feels jumbled and like it forgot itself along the way. The sex is enjoyable though and the film seconds as a safe sex instructional. The video on this release is beautiful but it comes on a DVD-R, which some players rejected.
