Ray Anderson wrote and directed this picture and I think I’ve just given you a representative idea of what his “writing” is all about: it’s explanation (or exposition) rather than narrative. Why does this matter? Because “Latin Girls 3” could have used the boost a decent situation, one integrated with the sex, can supply.
This isn’t an awful movie, but it isn’t a very good one either. The young Latin girls on display, though attractive, aren’t terribly enthusiastic about their work. They make the right sounds and assume all the right positions, but they aren’t particularly active. Maybe it’s their inexperience—Aimee Tyler has made more movies than her four co-stars combined. Whatever the reason, the sex suffers, and only one of the girls really makes much of an impression; it isn’t Aimee, who takes on two guys in the finale, but Trixie Kelly, paired with Joel Lawrence in the second scene, “Siesta.” Had all the girls performed as well as Trixie, who at least knows enough to go deep when giving head, Anderson might have been able to get away with his lousy script.
I say might have been able to because Anderson (or somebody), in a moment of neural dysfunction, cropped this film to give it a widescreen look without a widescreen vision. Heads are chopped in half, framing is shot to hell, and all sense of space disappears (the squeezing effect of this technique is claustrophobic). It wouldn’t have been so annoying if Anderson had shot the girls a little more and the sex a little less; then, at least, he might have kept their heads in the frame.
This movie doesn’t have many highlights. Trixie’s energetic, deep-throat blowjob in Scene 2 tops the list. Scene 3, “Bad Connection,” starring Zolly and Hennesy (in what may be her only porn scene to date) has the best setup. After Hennesy helps Zolly out with a payphone, the two go back to Zolly’s hotel room. Anderson gives them a little more time to get the sex started, so Zolly is able to kiss the girl and fondle her breasts through her shirt before the clothes comes off and Hennesy is forced into giving Zolly a blowjob while on her back. (I can’t possibly be the only porn viewer out there who thinks the opening moments of a sexual encounter can be erotic.) Kelly Tyler, in “Bus Stop Ride” (Scene 4) provides the movie its only anal activity as well as its best facial. None of the girls in this movie are into the facial at all, but Kelly swallows what little gets into her mouth. And Aimee Tyler, “Stranded in the Big City” in the movie’s last scene, deserves mention simply because she’s the cutest girl in the cast.
Reviewers are supposed to review the movie on the screen, not the one that should have been made. In this case, that’s too bad for Ray Anderson and “Young Latin Girls 3” because Anderson could have made a much more exciting film—even with the talent he had to work with—if he had only paid more attention to the script. I’d much rather have seen Mark Ashley and Amanda making out in the back of somebody’s pickup in a crowded theater parking lot than screwing at home in bed because, so they tell us, they’re too late for a movie. Maybe then I wouldn’t have wished I’d been too late for this one.
