“Savannah: The Lost Footage” by Antigua Pictures is advertised as a “tribute” to one of the brightest stars in the history of adult films, Savannah. Released a bit after the 15 year anniversary of her tragic passing, this movie promises her true fans a renewed look at the actress via offering up some rare footage. Unfortunately, these promises are largely empty, as the DVD is full not with the “4 Hours of the ‘Legendary Savannah’” displayed so prominently on the front of the disc, but instead with fifteen scenes—only three of which actually feature Savannah. The remainder of the sequences involve a hodge-podge of other actresses in various encounters—seven of which are fairly typical boy-girl offerings, two of which are of the boy-boy-girl variety (one double penetration), two more of which involve girl-on-girl action, and one of which is a boy-girl-girl segment. These sequences also appear to be quite old.
Savannah’s scenes, while tame by comparison with today’s standards, are fairly typical for the time period in which they were filmed, and—given her charm and cute good looks—are a true pleasure to watch. She does two boy-girl, vaginal-only segments (one ending in a pop-shot on her ass, and the other ending with a pop-shot on her tummy and crotch) and a reasonably lengthy girl-girl sequence. The boy-girl action is very good, and the girl-girl work is pretty good—again, keeping in mind the different age in which this was captured. In all honesty, it’s really good to see her again on the screen, even if the footage is essentially ancient at this point. All of that said, however, with only three scenes that clock in at less than forty-five minutes of the total three hours and eight minutes of the disc (nowhere near “4 hours”, by the way), there is really too little footage of her here to claim that this is a “tribute”. In fact, the entire production is something of a sham due to this distinct dearth of Savannah, the corresponding plethora of filler material, and the apparently misleading claims made on the box cover and the disc itself. This, of course, is a true shame, as Savannah—particularly at the 15 year mark of her passing—deserves a better “tribute” than this unfortunate production. Indeed, one can find much better—and much more—of Savannah on plenty of other DVDs released in the past number of years.
In terms of bonus materials and other options, there are none. There is not even a Main Menu, and there aren’t any bonuses of any sort. This is truly low-end stuff.
Summing up, the only reason that this DVD received any stars at all here is due to Savannah. The fact that only three of fifteen scenes include her in this “tribute” featuring “4 Hours of the ‘Legendary Savannah’” is shameful. The claims of “4 hours” when there are barely over three is also inexcusable. Further, the lack of a Main Menu and any type of bonuses is unfortunate, as well. Overall, I would avoid this disc—even for a rental—unless you are the most avid Savannah fan imaginable and have to have each and every scene of hers in each and every format. Indeed, Savannah—whose blonde star shall forever burn bright in the hearts of her fans—deserves much better than this.
