The Little Details

Running Time: 60 min.

Production Date: 3 / 15 / 2005

Director: None credited

Cast: Daisy and John West

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Anarchy has been doing a great job of showing who companies should pick to do an interactive DVD and then what not to do with it technically through the entire series. I’m not expecting anything different here.

Initial Reaction: It’s one of the worst I’ve seen from the series.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting a good interactive DVD

Who Should Avoid It: Extreme Daisy fans

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay at best. The audio is fairly weak. The balance varies a fair amount through the movie and there are some parts where it’s hard to hear Daisy. You also get to hear some commentary from behind the camera clear as day while Daisy can barely be heard. The video is average at best. It has a soft look that borders on a little pixelation which is made even worse by lower lighting.

Music: There’s music during the strip tease, but that’s it. It’s okay music, but seems a bit loud.

Bullshit, Borderline, and Boneheaded Advertising: The front cover makes claims of Various Angles, Extremely Interactive, Strip Tease, Titty Play, Blow Job, Tease Menu, One One One Sex, Shot Exclusively for DVD, Point of View (P.O.V.), and Different Sex Positions. The back cover lists features of Get to Know Daisy, Multiple Preview Trailers, Behind the Scenes, Digital Stereo Sound, Multiple Layer Menus, Website Access, All Region Coding, and PC DVD-ROM Compatible. The true claims are Strip Tease, Titty Play, Blow Job, Multiple Preview Trailers, Behind the Scenes, Digital Stereo Sound, Multiple Layer Menus, Website Access, All Region Coding, and PC DVD-ROM Compatible, most of which are things that no other studio advertises. That a studio advertises that you get a second menu for the extras and another for the trailers should let you know just how lame they are. The bullshit claims start of with the Get to Know Daisy claim, which makes it sound like there’s two featurettes instead of one for behind the scenes and interviews. There’s also the claim of Tease Menu. You do have the choice between starting with either foreplay or sex, but there’s a difference between foreplay and teasing. You don’t have any choices for Daisy to tease you with her tits, ass, pussy, or between her using her fingers or toys to play with herself for you. You only have the choices of strip tease, masturbation, and play with toys, rather than being able to say what you wanted Daisy to tease you with or what toy she should use like you would with an Extremely interactive virtual sex DVD like Digital Sin, Digital Playground, Smash Pictures, or Wicked Pictures has put out. The back cover also states that you can Change her wardrobe, which is complete bullshit unless you consider the outfit she starts in as one wardrobe and that it’s a new wardrobe every time she takes off a piece of clothing. Finally, for the most egregious sin in Anarchy’s sting of bullshit, borderline, and boneheaded claims they state that You can stick a dildo or two in her or slide your dick in every tight hole you can imagine. There’s only one dildo used in the movie, and it’s a jackrabbit vibe. The only other toy used is Sybian, and both toys are used at the same time. As for being able second part of the claim, which makes it sound like there’s an anal option, there’s no anal at all in this release. As usual, Anarchy delivers several cover claims that are complete bullshit.

The borderline claims start with the claim of Multiple Toys. Yes, there are toys, but no, you have no control over which one Daisy uses or what she does with it, as I said before. Much the same complaints can be made against the POV claim. Yes, there is some POV footage, but it’s definitely in the minority of footage. As usual, Anarchy has a major problem with being completely honest.

Finally, there’s the boneheaded claims. Top of the list is Various Angles. Yes, it is nice to see that they dumped the completely bullshit Multiple Angles claim that they used until just a couple releases ago, but this just seems stupid. POV is something most people consider very important for a virtual sex release, and they state that too later in the list on the front cover. It makes the POV claim redundant as well as borderline bullshit with the amount of it they include. Shot Exclusively for DVD? That might mean something if there were “Interactive VHS” releases being made. Next is my favorite boneheaded claim: Different Sex Positions. I’m not sure what they’re different from, since they’re the same positions I’ve seen used in virtually every other interactive sex DVD. Maybe it’s to mean that there’s more than one. This doesn’t seem like something a company would want to advertise. First, if the consumer puts any thought into it, they should ask the question of how many of Anarchy’s movies only use one sex position if they have to advertise having more than one here. Second, they should ask how few positions are actually used here if they’re actually branching out to use more than one. Finally, there’s the new dumbass cover claim: One One One Sex. At it’s best it’s a misspelling of the second grade level. More so, it appears stupid because 95% of the virtual sex releases only feature one on one sex and the other studios seem to have figured that doing group virtual sex just isn’t worth the hassle. One on one sex is also not something I’ve heard virtual sex fans demanding that a company would want to make a big deal of. Then again, maybe this is just Anarcy’s way of letting the customer know that they’re too cheap to hire a guy who’s able to do more than one pop for a virtual sex release. Yes, once again Anarchy has earned themselves a penalty on their overall score for not being able to be straight with the consumer, and with the amount of them here I’m deducting a point and a half from the overall score.

Menus: The menus have a clip from the movie. It’s not a great clip, but has a cheap look that starts the DVD out looking as shoddy as it is.

The Feature

Daisy is a very good looking Latino with a small mole piercing above the right side of her mouth who looks like she has a monthly payment to the tattoo parlor. Anarchy is a company that appears to be made up of Downs Syndrome survivors. They’ve teamed up here to try to make an interactive DVD.

There’s plenty of choices on what Daisy will do. She starts things out giving a strip tease behind a paisley veiled curtain that she pulls aside so that you can see her as she dances around in her pink skirt, pink and white top, and pink panties. She’ll masturbate using her fingers or toys such as the jackrabbit vibe and a Sybian. She’ll suck “your” cock, give “you” a footjob or let “you” titty fuck her for foreplay. For sex, “you” can fuck her in missionary, doggie, either cowgirl, or spooning. Finally, Daisy will take a facial finish.

Daisy does an okay job. She looks nice and like she’s having fun, but depending on what she’s doing she doesn’t always look like she’s pleasing John. Her blowjob is great, where she pushes her gag reflex a bit, but when it comes to the footjob John looks like he’d rather spank the monkey so Daisy kicks up playing to the camera a little more. She does a better job with the sex, but she often seems more concerned with craning her neck around to look at the camera than in seeming like she’s trying to please her partner. She’s definitely at her best when John gives her a facial, as she takes it all over her face with some nice enthusiasm while stroking John to make sure she gets every last drop. Daisy gives a pretty average performance here, and nowhere near the job I’d normally expect from her.

Some of my misgivings about Daisy’s performance are probably due to the poor job that’s done technically everywhere else in the release. Jimmy D does the camera work as usual, but doesn’t do as good of a job as normal. He seems overly concerned with the penetration, or maybe I should say he’s way too concerned about John West’s cock. There’s plenty of times when he fills the screen with John’s cock and doesn’t even let you see all of Daisy’s face if sucking it or body if she’s being fucked. He also uses a lot of distance shots from angles that seem a little off, and the segments, which last between about two and eleven minutes when Daisy is by herself and thirty seconds and two and a half minutes when she’s with John, often seem extremely choppy. Jimmy D. seems like he was really having an off day when he shot Playing with Daisy.

Sadly, the rest of Playing with Daisy was just as bed technically. There’s the usual cheesy menu in the upper left corner where you can choose what you want Daisy and John to do, but in some cases you can hit the same selection twice and get two different parts of the movie. Otherwise it’s the usual chapter menu for the movie that you can access at any time as the chopped up feature rolls along rather than having the individual segments loop to give you real control and a worthwhile virtual experience. It also feels sloppy by flashing things up like a black screen saying “Doggie #2”. There’s a little POV footage, but more often than not what seems like they consider “POV” instead is an extreme close-up. Out of the forty two minutes of Daisy and John working each other over, I’m not sure that there’s eight minutes of decent POV footage. Hell, I’m not sure if there’s eight minutes of lousy POV footage! Once again, Anarchy shows that they’d rather half ass together virtual action than take the time to do it right.

Playing with Daisy is a very poor interactive “virtual sex” release. Daisy looks good, and although she normally puts out a very nice performance the only time she shines with John West is when he gives her a facial to finish things up. The camera work is some of the worst I’ve seen out of this series, and as usual, Anarchy shows the intelligence level that requires irons to include a warning of “Do not iron clothes while wearing them”. Playing with Daisy leaves almost everything to be desired.

The Extra Stuff

The usual five trailers are included, along with internet information. The photo gallery lasts nearly forty seconds with about three seconds per pixelated snapshot. There’s also a featurette to get to know Daisy.

The Get to Know Daisy featurette lasts almost seven and a half minutes. It starts out with about two and a half minutes of outtakes before Daisy chats with Jimmy D while he has a few smokes. As she chats, Daisy gives the camera a little tease now and then . She talks about her time off, looking forward to the Sybian, and being back. It’s an okay little interview, but nothing too special.

The Down -n- Dirty Sex Stuff

Themes: Straight, interactive, tease, masturbation, toys, interracial, oral, and footjob

Raincoat Factor: High

Condom Usage: None

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of the Playing with series can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with several stores offering it near the low end. Don’t even think of paying that much for this one, and even think again on renting it. This one lacks even compared to much of the rest of the series. Daisy gives a fairly average performance, the technical aspects are a little weak, and there’s not as much effort put into the extras as they make it sound. Pass this one by like a bad burrito.

Note to Anarchy: Thank you for proving wrong the old saying of “Consistency is good.”.
