I've been sitting on this thing for a long time because I wanted to be fair. I've been complaining about cheap-shit porn where a blanket is thrown over a sofa and pushed against a basement wall, two meth addicts are hired as performers, and the "director" has a checklist he runs through. "Now turn her around and fuck her doggie... okay, now sit down and have her sit on top of you, with her back to me...yeah..." And then it's slapped together in 1/2 an hour, burned on disc, and out to the fans.

And then they complain why the customers would rather watch postage-stamp sized clips on in the internet for free.

So now you have this. The performers are better looking than average. From cinematography to editing to music to mastering the DVD, a lot of time and expense went into it. Should be great, beause it was obviously designed to be great.

There are five scenes: the first is MMF, then a lesbian, then three more straight MFs, and everyone appears only once. The scenes have different music and "looks" to them, though it tends to be high key, soft focus and somewhat romantic: think of some of Bob Guccione's old Penthouse shoots. The performers are a mix, but nothing extreme: no huge breasts, no bee-stings, no big body tattoos or piercings. The women wear lingerie but they vary. The guys wear some unusual clothing but again, nothing extreme. The sets are beautiful.

It is beautiful to look at, but is it erotic? If you like that semi-surreal, almost music video approach (Michael Ninn does something very similar), then it's fantastic. To me, it looks like a series of high quality photo shoots, but the movement kills it. As I type this, I've got the screen frozen on Scene 2, with Brandy's head buried in Blue Angel's crotch and it looks fantastic: but when I start it going, it looks like about 1000 other times I've seen one woman lick another's pussy. The same goes for other scenes. Frame by frame I'm struck by it, but as it runs—yeah, whatever.

The music is dramatic ambient, which I think is fine on its own but I find it too distracting here. The same for the sound, which is typically women moaning in reverb. Plus what works well in small doses gets tiresome very, very quickly.

As for the BTS, I expected director Kendo to be French and up to the eyeballs in gravitas and his own importance as a director of ars erotique. The fact that he's an ex-bodybuilder doesn't detract from it. But there's a pleasant surprise and the BTS, while I can't say I really enjoyed it, was better than I'd expected. But it's also partially made in the music-video format of the scenes: so like it or hate it, there's more of it.

Recommended for people who like artsy, colorful, semi-surreal porn. People who want to see hardcore but want it softened with color and music may even find it erotic. If you like Michael Ninn's output, you should definitely check this out. Otherwise, pass it by.
