Running Time: 73 min.

Production Date: 1993

Director: Paul Thomas

Cast: Lene' Hefner, Lacy Rose, Sierra, Brittany O'Connell, Mark Davis, Jon Dough, Nick East, Steven St. Croix

Extras: The typical Vivid Wave extras. Previews, bios, 'interactive' sex, and AVN highlights. It's the same extras as the other Wave DVDs.

Audio Quality: Average. There are a couple of spots that seem like they may have been dubbed, but it's not overly noticeable. There are also a few places where the sound seems to lose its depth, which probably added to my feeling of parts being dubbed.

Video Quality: The picture shows a lot of grain, but I think that comes more from the original than the transfer.

Music: The music comes and goes throughout the movie, but since it seems to be on purpose, it isn't too bad. When the music does stop, it seems to be the end of the song and you have some of the sounds of the people.

Initial Expectations: Paul Thomas normally does a pretty good porno without much plot but with some average to better than average sex. With 'Mask' only being 73 minutes long, I'm kind of afraid that Vivid went wild editing the movie to fit some of their extras on the DVD.

Initial Reaction: 'Mask' is pretty good, but it sure feels like somebody edited a bunch out.

Review: 'Mask' is the story of David (Mark Davis), a scientist who seems to have it all: great job, beautiful fiance, etc. Lene', his fiance, is there to meet him as soon as he walks out of the building he works at. When they pull up at their house, she immediately opens the car door on her side to give her a little more room to blow him. Thankfully, this means that we get to watch him get a blow job, also. This turns out to be a pretty good scene, as the sex happens throughout the house. Lene' gets ate out on the staircase, and then they fuck at the top of the stairs. The end of the scene was a let down, as the last minute or so of the scene he sat down on the stairs and jerked off while fingering Lene'. I can understand that Lene' would take a lot out of a guy, but at least let her finish him off!

Everything's going David's way until the next day when he screws up in the lab and the explosion leaves him with a face that only Dominoes could love. His fiance leaves him as soon as she catches a glimpse of his face. Even the doctor and nurse cringe when they look at him. The bum on the corner can't even look at him without cringing. Since he's a scientist, he realizes the only way he's going to get any is with hookers. Enter 'cheerleader' Lacy Rose. She's getting paid (extra as soon as she sees him) and she won't even do him. He just sits above wrapped up like the invisible man and watches Nick East and Steven St. Croix do her. This is a slightly less than average threesome. I couldn't help but feel like this scene was edited so Vivid could fit some of their extras on the DVD since you only saw a cumshot from Nick and not Steven.

Luckily, David has a partner (the one who told him the correct way to mix chemicals) who smuggles him into the lab where he makes a mask to make him look normal again (Jon Dough gets to play David now). He's so happy as he leaves the lab that he even gives money to the bum on the corner. Of course, the first stop any guy would make as soon as he realizes he's good looking is the closest street corner where he picks up Sierra and Brittany O'Connell. Man, this guy sure knows a lot of hookers for having had a fiance like Lene! I'm not criticizing his choices though. You can't go wrong with Brittany O'Connell, and but I haven't been much of a fan of Sierra. I remember hearing about Sierra some back in college, but was never that impressed with what I saw of her. Even in 'Face Dance Part 1' I would only consider her average to slightly above average. In 'Mask', however, she does a great job. She has a great amount of enthusiasm that carries through the entire scene from when she can't wait to get inside the house for a piece of Brittany to Jon Dough shooting his load across her stomach and then popping up like a baby bird looking for another worm. Most of the scene is between Sierra and Brittany and works its way throughout the room. Sierra works Brittany over in a huge leather chair, but barely gives Brittany a chance to return the favor before moving the action to a huge desk, where they continue to work each other over while Jon sits back in a chair and watches, not even breaking it out to stroke it. He waits for Sierra and Brittany to do that. Once again, Sierra dives into her work, but shares more evenly with Brittany this time. Brittany then mounts Jon as he sits in the chair and munches on Sierra. She hops off to lay next to Sierra where they continue to pleasure each other while Jon pumps Sierra. Even after Jon shoots his load all over Sierra's stomach she and Brittany finish each other off before hopping down off the desk to suck the last drop from Jon.

Next, we see David out on the town. Where ever he goes, he seems to bump into Lene'. Eventually, they talk and go out on a date where Lene' says that she swears that she knows him. Being the shy girl she is, Lene' then asks him if he wants to fuck her (DUH!). They go back to her place where he eats her out in the kitchen, and then go to the bedroom where she strips for him (somewhere in between she decided to change clothes to take them off) and then gives him a hand job before riding him cowgirl style. Believe it or not, I actually felt sorry for a male porn star here. I thought Jon was going to fall asleep in the middle of the scene. Maybe he was just concentrating hard on the job at hand, but it sure looked like he was nodding off since he looked bored when his eyes were open. Maybe that's why they started spooning next. A change of position might wake Jon back up. He even seemed to have trouble blowing his load on Lene's tits. Like I said, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy.

Finally, Lene' touches up in the bathroom and starts talking about the scientist named she was seeing before and how he got in an accident and she was going to marry him but he got in this accident and the pictures wouldn't look right and how could she walk up the aisle with a guy looking like that and I want kids do you want kids and.... David gets dressed and leaves while Lene' is trying to figure out how to breathe while talking. That's it. Okay...

Needless to say, 'Mask' could have been better. The final scene lasted a half hour with most of it being sex. The scene could have easily been half as long and added a little plot with David finding someone else and another sex scene. The cover says he could have any woman he wanted, let's see him get a new one without paying her!

Throughout the movie, I felt like somebody went wild editing it. You never see any position changes, and you only see one pop shot out of two guys in a threesome. The picture is a little grainy, but the movie was originally made in 1993. For the age of the original, the transfer seems pretty good.

Raincoat Factor: Medium. There isn't much to the plot, but there's a bunch of story line in between the scenes.

Overall: Although 'Mask' starts out fairly strong, it loses its momentum throughout the movie. The sex is pretty good, although it seems edited and the last scene is way too long. You might want to pick this up if you're a fan of Lene' or Sierra.

Themes: straight, lesbian, group, anal
