Wandering into a sex club, Foz sees the muscular Vilem Cage in a cage (Kazan has a sense of humor). Michele Luppo, a handsome young wolf making his debut here, is fondling Vilem through the bars. As Michele lowers Vilem’s pants and briefs, Vilem’s big uncut dick pops out between the bars of the cage. Michele wastes no time in using his tongue and mouth to keep it at that erect state. I would not have thought it possible but Kazan introduces us to an even more incredible beauty in the person of Daniele Costaldo. (Think Michelangelo’s David.) Foz (and we) see him on the beach where he plays with himself in his Speedos taunting us. We then see him nude but in a rear view rubbing his hands over those smooth exquisite buns. (Oh, God!) Finally we get the full-frontal and he jacks off his slim uncut tool. It’s not a big load but each drop from this paragon is priceless.
Nemorino wonders if Aldo and Belcore get it on with their friends Mattia Saleni and Luca Ferri. He imagines them all together, but as this thought is too painful Aldo and Belcore vanish leaving behind the two friends in Nemorino’s sex-filled imagination. Mattia is another of those we stare at with a mixture of lust and awe. Luca is the lucky guy who gets to go down on him and bring him to climax. Luca then straddles Mattia’s still hard manhood. Mattia thrusts up his hips doing all the work as Luca sits still, his uncut dick flapping.
Unable to bear his frustration any longer and it being the last day of his holiday, Nemorino goes to the quack Dr. Dulcamara (Ettore Tosi, Kazan’s chief superstar, in a cameo role) for a love potion, the elixir of love in the title. As in the opera, this concoction’s only power is in being about 95 proof. (Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker.) Staggering along the beach, Nemorino practically collides with his desired object. Tossing aside Nemorino’s dorky specs, Aldo grabs the once-shy Nemorino into his powerful arms. Waves crash in the back ground as their lovemaking begins, reminding one of the classic love scene in “From Here to Eternity”. It continues on into the night with love on a moonlit beach being the ne plus ultra of romance. Aldo tops the no-longer-frustrated Nemorino. The fantasy has been fulfilled. Viva il grande Dulcamara, possa presto a noi tornar.
You will want to take a gander at the extras section because in addition to the usual chapter points, photo shoots, and trailers, there is a Behind the Scenes section which features Michele’s audition—posing nude, spanking his monkey and getting fucked by Ettore Tosi. Lucas also poses, giving us the finger and a stiff dick, and the wrap-up party made me want to be there to eat that luscious Italian food with those great-looking studs. I wish this section had been longer.
Don’t let the fact that this is based on an opera deter you from this film. The fat lady doesn't sing. An orchestral version of Nemorino’s famous aria “Una furtive lagrima” (One Furtive Tear) is heard in an orchestral version to convey Nemorino’s longing, and a few other operatic echoes appear scantily. These will not bother non-opera lovers. L’ELISIR D’AMORE is a beautiful film. 5 stars on all counts! I consider it one of the brightest jewels in my vast DVD collection. Those of us who love men are lucky to have artists of the caliber of Bjorn, Higgins, Titan’s Bruce Cam, and Lucas Kazan to give us films that are of such high caliber they transcend mere porn. These men are filmmakers in every sense of the word. And isn’t it amazing that with all this “art” their films are so incredibly hot, hotter, hottest? You really want to show a film like this to straights, saying “You and your crappy straight porn. Look what we’ve got!”
