"A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn"
I had mostly seen Jonathan Morgan's comedies, so I decided that this time around I would see how he does with drama, and darker elements, so I watched this and Indigo Delta back to back. I was very impressed with both films, but I've decided to review Knockout first.

The Movie: I don't understand why Wicked hasn't pushed this movie more. It really is one of the few adult titles out there that is TOTALLY couples worthy. It has a very sweet, romantic plot with some very hot, and at times rough, sex.

Now, when I say sweet, romantic plot, I'm not talking Hollywood caliber here. Yes, the movie does have some very nice dialogue scenes, and some sweet moments between the two lead characters, but it never forgets that it's an adult film. The story and the sex work together very well, and because of that, the sex scenes are enhanced by the plot, which is how a good feature porn should work.

The sex here is pretty basic with three boy/girl scenes, one girl/girl scene, and one boy/girl/girl scene. All the sex is very well shot, and very hot, although the girl/girl scene is very rough. Stephenie Swift really gets slapped around by Sharon Mitchell. I was slightly suprised, but the scene worked very well, so it never bothered me to much.

The story of the film is as follows. We have Stephenie Swift as a down and out ballet dancer turned stripper, and we have Brad Armstrong as a down and out boxer turned fall guy. They meet, and soon form a bond which helps bring both of them out of their slumps. It's a simple plot that works very well, and keeps things sweet. Stephenie is an alright actress, fairly flat at times though, and she mumbles so her lines are hard to hear. Still, she does well over all, and creates a very sympathetic character, especially through her physical acting, and her expresive eyes. Brad Armstrong does an amazing job with his role. He took about a scene to grow on me, and then I was sold. While he wasn't the best actor I've ever seen, he did a very nice job with his character, creating a lead we really wanted to see succeed in life. Good job there!

The direction is top notch, with some great imagery. The opening credits, and several sequences, including the sex scenes, really impressed me. The final sex scene between Brad and Stephenie was wonderfully shot, and she just looks amazing, and the scene feels very erotic. Way to go Mr. Morgan!

Tech Stuff: Great picture and sound. Also, they did a steller job with the cover on this movie. The image on the front is just gorgeous, and the image on the back is one I wish I actually had a poster of. Wonderful job all around.

The disc doesn't have a ton of extras, but it does have the usual trailers, bios, ect. The commentary track is a solo track with Jonathan Morgan, but it is very entertaining to listen to. Again, good job.

Overall: A nice, simple adult film that doesn't try to shock, or cross major boundries. It just is what it is, and succeeds at that. It is still one of the more impressive movies I've seen from Wicked, just because of Brad Armstrongs performance, and Jonathan Morgan's direction. Highly recommended.

*If you have a chance to check out the trailer for this movie, you should. It honestly was the main reason I got this movie.
