The Little Details

Running Time: 98 min. (cover states 75 min.)

Production Date: 1 / 22 / 2007 (cover), 2 / 26 / 2007 (DVD)

Director: None credited

Cast: Gia Giavanna, Trinity Aikens, and Maxwell Schmart in sexual roles and Cherry Kawkktease in a non-sex role

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: OSK has put out some pretty good instructional releases. Although this one sounds a bit basic, I can't help but have a little hope for it.

Initial Reaction: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!

Who Should Watch It : Anybody the least bit interested in medical sounds and sex

Who Should Avoid It: Fans of vanilla sex

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio is free of background noises, but the balance varies a bit throughout the release and it's sometimes a little hard to understand. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen, and is okay. It's nicely lit, but has a touch of grain that's definitely noticeable.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu is okay, and just gives a cover still with the choices. The chapter menu Is very basic and lets you choose a scene based on a series of text choices.

The Feature

OSK Productions' instructional release go the hardcore route. In addition to having porn stars to talk about the subjects, there are hardcore demonstrations. Here the subject is sounds, which are medical rods which are small metal rods that are inserted into the urethra of a man or women. It's hosted by Trinity Atkins as she watches a video with Gia Givanna and then tries out sounds herself.

Scene 1 – Gia Givanna and Maxwell Schmart

Brunette Gia shows off a set of sounds, which look like silver curved rods, before changing into a sexy nurse outfit to spice things up a bit, and heading in to join Maxwell. As Gia changes and heads in, Trinity and Maxwell chat about what they're watching and sometimes appear in picture-in-picture. Gia starts out sucking Maxwell's cock to warm him up before covering prep for the sounds including cleaning and prep for both the sound and the penis. She covers what's going on as well as the dangers of what can happen if sounds are used improperly. Gia works through a few different sounds while also talking about things like how electrical toys can be added to the sound. After seeing how far Maxwell's urethra will stretch on its own, Gia decides to show that it still works by sucking and stroking him until he pops in and around her mouth.

This is a well done but damn scary scene. I'll readily admit that this scene was far past my comfort limits, but also pretty well done. There's some nice information that's given during the demonstration and both Maxwell and Gia look interested in the subject. I had a hard time watching this segment due to my comfort level with the idea of having things put in my cock, but for those interested in it I think this scene will be beneficial.

Scene 2 – Trinity Aikins and Maxwell Schmart

Trinity, an average looking brunette in fishnets and a little black pinstripe bra and garter belt, starts out trying sounds with Maxwell by showing that she has all of the equipment that Gia showed in her scene to get ready while also confessing to being a little bit nervous. The sound easily slips out of Maxwell, which Trinity talks about a bit with things she appears to be learning as she goes. She gradually works Maxwell up to larger sounds with them both talking about how it feels and things that they think about while trying the sounds. After Trinity sees how much Maxwell can easily take, she decides to give him a little oral reward to show how everything still works sucking him to a nice facial finish. After finishing things up with Maxwell, Trinity sits back with Cherry Kawkktease to answer a few questions about sounds as well as her other boundage and fetish experiences.

This is a very nicely done segment. It repeats a lot of the information from Gia's segment, but it also makes it about as friendly as the subject can get while reinforcing a lot of the information. With a subject like this that seems like it can get a little dangerous and have some serious medical repercussions if it's done wrong, I can't really fault OSK for wanting to repeat a lot of this information and to give a few more views on it with a more candid feel to it. This is a well done segment that does a very good job at taking another look at the subject.

How To Use Sounds is an instructional release for a very specific and specialized audience, and I'll readily admit that I'm not part of that target audience. In fact, I was very glad to have to leave in the middle of watching this release to consume a fair amount of alcohol and it helped to make watching the remainder of the release much more enjoyable. I like watching a little fetish action now and then, but when I saw the title to this one I was thinking this release was more about communication and ways to encourage couples to be more vocal during sex right down to wondering if they were going to include crying out “Daddy! What are you doing here???!!!” when you want to kill the mood and cut it short with your sex partner. Instead this release ended up as something that I think most people will consider heavy fetish. Gia, Trinity, and Maxwell do a very job making the subject as friendly as possible and do a very nice job covering the safety aspect about it as well as the importance of communication and taking it easy. Gia does a very good job keeping things fairly clinical while Trinity gives a very realistic newbie perspective on the subject. I really like that balance between the girls as well as how much Trinity's enthusiasm and amazement comes out during the post-demonstration interview. How to Use Sounds is definitely not going to be for everybody, but if you're at all interested in this subject make sure you pick this release up.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about eight and a quarter minutes with about three seconds per okay looking screen capture that's panned across. Trailers are included for Black Velvet: Santa Monica, Tortia, Hot to Perform Cock & Ball Torture, How to Perform Rope Bondage, Ride of Your Life, Keep on Rollin', Car is a Rockin', Sexy Girl, and All the Way.

The Down -n- Dirty Sex Stuff

Themes: Straight, instructional, and fetish

Raincoat Factor: Medium

Condom Usage: None

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of OSK Productions' DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $18. If you're at all interested in this subject, don't even worry about the price and pick this one up. The information is a bit limited, but it's well done enough that I can't help but recommend it. The technical aspects are a little weak and there isn't any real effort put into the extras, but that's not too unusual for this type of release. This movie is for a specialized audience, but if you're part of that audience it's very well worth picking up.

Note to OSK Productions: Thank you for branching into fetishes with your series rather than just doing the same thing everybody else has already done.
