"A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn"

So, this is my first Tera Patrick movie. Should I have started with a different movie?

The Movie: Desperate is a mess. Must a big mess. The plot makes no sense, and most of the sex is just blah. So, if it's a mess, then why did I give it three stars? Let's see...

1) While I would prefer if Spyder Jonez would keep his clothing on, he is still a good actor, and does a good job with his part.

2) Some of the sex is actually good. Namely, the scene between Tera Patrick and Monique Alexander.

3) It pushed the limits for a Vivid movie.

Yes, this movie really pushes the limits for a Vivid movie. The Masseuse had light bondage in it, and it worked with the softer story. Desperate is a harder edged "story" (more on that later), and the bondage present is a lot harder. The first scene between Tera and Spyder is fairly extreme. Tera is tied up, blindfolded, then whipped. Then Spyder pulls out a dildo, gags her with it (starts pounding it down her throat really), and then fucks her with it. He then proceeds to hit her across the face with it several times. There is a lot more stuff here that makes the opening scene of No No Brianna look like something out of Red Shoe Diaries. While it's not The Fasionistas, it's extreme for Vivid.

Normally I hate stuff like this, and I wasn't a fan of it here either, but it shows that Vivid is pushing boundries a little. Any movie that shows a company growing is a good thing. Now if only they could grow without having to have a woman get slapped in the face with a dildo.

The rest of the sex is pretty blah. I really was just bored by it.

The "plot" of this movie, like I said, is a mess. It feels like they had a longer script, and never got to shooting a good chunk of it, so certain things towards the end make no sense. Luckily the acting is actually good here, because there is talking. Not a ton, but still, enough.

Tech Stuff: Vivid's gotten a lot better with their transfers. The video is strong and the audio is very good. An upgrade in quality from before.

Extras: The usuals. There is a behind the scenes video, trailers, the Vivid girl extras, and the rest.

OverAll: Anyone who wants to see Tera Patrick in a pretty hardcore bondage scene should pick this up. The scene lasts almost twenty minutes. Otherwise, go for something else. If you want a darker story, try some of Michael Raven's earlier stuff from Sin City. If you want something with bondage, get The Fashionistas. If you want a good Tera Patrick movie... well, I'm not the one to ask. For Tera fans only.
