menu screen Synopsis:
A magazine publisher, W.R. Jackson (Frank Hallowell), wants to do a story on the sorority that Kimberly Anne Jackson (Annette Haven), his daughter, belongs to.  The problem is that the girls there have been seeing the men from Uppa U Omega, the scummiest men on the campus.  The Dean sees to it that the omen are forced to only date men from the best fraternity on campus, Phi Upsilon Delta.  The frat boys of Uppa U Omega seek out revenge against the sorority to get their women back.

Audio/Video:
Coed Fever is presented with an English 2.0 Mono track, which is decent considering the age of the film.  The audio levels dip in places making the dialog hard to hear for a few moments and the audio is also scratchy in places.  How much of this is due to the master that was available and how much was due to Caballero's treatment of the film on DVD I don't know, but the audio is acceptable.  Caballero hasn't included any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the feature film.

Coed Fever is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:!, which I don't believe is the original aspect ratio for the film.  I would guess that the film was originally presented in the aspect ratio of approximately 1.66:1.  It's a shame that the classics are coming out in pan and scan format instead of being released in their original aspect ratios.  The picture presented on the disc decent for the age of the picture.  As can be expected there are artifacts present throughout the presentation and the picture is also on the soft side.  The colors look good and all in all I've seen far worse from Caballero.

screen shot Special Features:
The only extra included on the disc is a photo gallery that contains eleven stills on a track.  It's a shame with a film of this caliber that Caballero didn't even attempt to include some good extras.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc starts out with a phone sex advert, which happily can be skipped over, before going to the main menu.  The menus are non-animated with background music, which are functional, but that's about it.  The standard Caballero disc design.  There are eight chapters available from the chapter menu.  Each one is identified by a video clip.  As per their norm, Caballero has done a horrible job authoring the disc.  The film is cut up over multiple tracks.  Each track has it's own time code, but you can't back up to previous tracks.  Basically, this disc is a pain in the ass to navigate through.

General Review:
After the success of the mainstream film National Lampoon's Animal House, it was inevitable that the adult film industry would try to cash in on it's success.  The first of the adult version take-off of the film, that I am aware of, was the mediocre Natural Lamporn's Frat House.  The best that I have seen yet is Coed Fever, which stands in my opinion as one of the best films to come from the Golden Age of adult entertainment.  This film is right up there with other classics such as Debbie Does Dallas, C andy Stripers and The Devil in Miss Jones as must own titles for fans of the classics.

screen shot The reason that Coed Fever works so well is it's mix of sex, humor and a good plot and the way it is presented.  The film is structured like a mainstream film presenting a fun plot with sex scenes that fit in with the plot and the plot is as important to the film as the sex scenes.  Some of the scenes aren't created for erotic purposes, some of them exist to further the plot and some exist for comic relief.  The cast also stays in character for the sex scenes.  An aspect to some of the scenes that some viewers may not like is that some scenes are interlaced with plot footage.

The sex scenes are much shorter than those in adult films today and usually the sex scenes don't include every act possible.  Instead, the scenes use what feels right for the time.  The sexual themes in the film aren't always light though so viewers that only like tame sex may not completely enjoy this film.  There is a very well done, but nastier scene with Jamie Gillis, Debbie Davison and Devon Harrison, which is also one of the best scenes in the film.  There is also a scene that borders on being a coercion scene with Samantha Fox, an unknown male and Annette Haven.  The theme in the film is college and the sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with blow jobs, anal fingering, vaginal toy use, anilingus, pussy eating, vaginal strap-on use and lesbianism.  For viewers that care about condom use, there are no condoms used in the film.

The production values for the film are great.  The film is well shot and many of the scenes resemble a low budget Hollywood film in their style than an adult film.  The sets and locations are excellent.  Not only do they fit the scenes, but they also are more low budget Hollywood style than adult film like.  All of this goes on to help Coed Fever be the excellent adult film that it is.

screen shot Scene Synopsis:
The first scene brings us Terri Dolan and Aaron Stewart and the scene starts out with Terri stripping down and falling on her knees to give Aaron a blow job.  The scene ends with Aaron cumming in her mouth and on her chest.  The second scene gives us Serena and R.J. Reynolds.  The scene starts with Serena giving R.J. a blow job before she strips down and they go into the vaginal sex.  To end the scene, R.J. cums on Serena's pubes.  The third scene features Lisa DeLeeuw and Jamie Gillis and the scene starts out with Lisa giving Jamie a blow job.  Then they go into the vaginal sex.  After a while, Jamie goes down for some pussy eating.  There is no cumshot to end the scene.

The fourth scene gives us Debbie Davison, Devon Harrison and Jamie Gillis.  The scene starts out in progress with Jamie having vaginal sex with one of the girls, who is eating out the other girl.  Jamie briefly performs some anilingus on the girl being eaten before it is back to the vaginal sex.  Then the two females give Jamie a blow job.  Then Jamie eats one out while she eats out he other female who is blowing Jamie at the time. Then Jamie and one of the females eat out the other female.  They go back to the vaginal sex.  Then Jamie goes into some anal sex with one of the females.  To end the scene, Jamie cums on both of the female's faces.

The fifth scene brings us Vanessa Del Rio, Michael Morrison and Ron Jeremy.  Vanessa starts the scene out by briefly playing with a vibrator before Ron starts eating her out.  Then she starts giving Michael a blow job while Ron continues to eat her.  While Vanessa continues to bow Michael, Ron uses a dildo on her.  Then Ron goes in for some vaginal sex while Michael continues to be blown.  Then she blows both of them before Michael goes in for some vaginal sex.  Michael cums all over her then Ron goes in for some vaginal sex.  Then, to end the scene, Ron cums all over her.

screen shot The sixth scene features Samantha Fox and John Leslie and the scene starts out with Samantha giving John a blow job.  Then John goes in for some vaginal sex.  At the end of the scene, John cums on her thigh.  The seventh scene brings us Lysa Thatcher and Tawny Pearl and the scene has Lysa and Tawny eating out each other in a 69 position.  The eighth scene gives us Samantha Fox, Annette Haven and an unknown male.  The scene starts out with Samantha giving a blow job while being paddled by Annette.  Annette briefly penetrates Samantha vaginally with a strap-on and the unknown male cums a little on her face and mostly on his hand.

The ninth scene features Brooke West and Jon Martin and Brooke starts out the scene by giving Jon a blow job then Jon goes down on her  for some pussy eating.  Then they go into the vaginal sex.  To end the scene, Jon cums on her belly.  The tenth and final scene features Annette Haven, Terri Dolan, Lysa Thatcher, Tawny Pearl, Don Fernando, Mike Horner and four unknown males.  This scene is a series of four little scenes, one with Annette Haven with three unknown men, one with Terri Dolan and Mike Horner, one with Lysa Thatcher, Tawny Pearl and an unknown male and the final one with Annette Haven and Don Fernando, featuring blow jobs and vaginal sex.  The scenes switch so quickly it is hard to give a description of each one.

Parting Thoughts:
If you've seen it before, you know Coed Fever is one of the must own classics.  If you haven't and you are a fan of the classics, this is one to pick up now.  The movie has been given horrible treatment on the disc by Caballero, as per their norm, but for it's age, it isn't too bad if you can forgive the horrible disc mastering.  The disc is hard to find but is well worth seeking out and well worth the purchase price.
