One note beforehand : Raincoaters avert your
eyes! As is to be expected, this new release (of
an older video) from Royalle's Femme line of
couples (and woman-) friendly products is the
kind of gentle sex flick one might try to lure
his girlfriend into porn viewing.
Since there is a substantial plot to the movie, I
digress from my usual synopsis/sex scene
listing/conclusion review formula to describe the
way the movie unfolds from start to finish.
After the (hokey-looking) Femme logo, we are
treated to soft music and Missy examining a set
of photographs she apparently took for a New York
ad firm (yes folks, she's a renowned photographer
allright) when Sharon Mitchell as her best friend
enters the scene.
You see, it's Miss Mitchell's house where Missy
seems to find peace, even though she feels
a "deep longing" for something she can't put her
finger on. Mitch and Missy go through a brief
dialogue where it is made clear that Missy's
boyfriend Jamie (Tony Tedeschi) doesn't really
give her satisfying sexual experiences anymore
while Mitch apparently has a very good sex life
with her man Herschel Savage.
It all sounds very "Red Shoe Diaries" to me..
An important plot point is introduced, which is a
telescope through which every house in the
vicinity can be examined, and soon Missy notices
a big, deserted villa where another telescope is
standing, though it is pointed at the sky.. Mitch
adds to the rumor mill by pointing out that the
owner died right during construction.
We are then treated to the first sex scene when
Mitch and Herschel are making love in his house,
an act that Missy watches eagerly through the
telescope (thus the obvious theme of voyeurism is
introduced here) .
In her commentary, Royalle points out the
importance of 'older' people (40s) like Sharon
and Herschel still being sexy, though my viewing
experience left to be desired.. while both are in
pretty good health, and there's a great chemistry
to the scene (watch how Sharon takes off his
boots between her legs) I'd prefer younger women
thank you very much.
Most important is the lack of a cumshot in this
scene, both participants reach their orgasm the
usual way of internal ejaculation. In any case,
fans of facials will definitely not want to pick
up this movie!
We are then introduced to Missy's boyfriend
Jamie, who seems to miss her (though we don't
even see him again for the entire movie -->
continuity?) and pretty soon both are lying on
the bed with him licking her snatch.. this is a
pretty good oral scene, and Missy definitely
it. She then performs the same on him (Missy BJ,
need I say more?) and they have missionary sex,
with a bit of cowgirl in between. Again, he cums
The funny thing is that Tedeschi uses the usual
porn speech ("suck my cock" "this is so good
inside your pussy") which doesn't really suit
the atmosphere of the scene!
Disturbingly, both have been watched the entire
time by a second party, through a telescope.
Every halfway intelligent viewer should be aware
of what's going on now, but we get another scene
where Missy treats herself to some aerobic
training and, surprise!, notices that the
telescope in the deserted house is pointed at
her.. oh well.
We then get a series of scenes where she drives
to the house, is afraid, comes back again, looks
through the telescope etc. which I'm too bored to
recite in detail (a review shouldn't be a pure
synopsis after all) interrupted by a masturbation
scene of Missy in the bathtub where Mickey G's
character is briefly seen for the first time.
The third sex scene is of Chloe and Tom Byron as
a couple who Missy watches (guess how.. through
the telescope! You get the idea), with Tom as a
closet transvestite (see for yourselves).
The scene is a bit more edgy, with some slight
hairpulling but the whole thing is of course
consensual and again there's a sense of fun to
the whole thing. This goes often amiss in porn
films.. we even get a cumshot , though Tom spurts
on himself and then Chloe licks it off.
Not bad all in all..
At this point, Sharon comes round to say that she
goes camping, and from this point on, we get the
same series of scenes where Missy tries to find
out who lives in the deserted house etc.
For a movie with plot, this one's rather boring..
Finally, Mickey G reveals himself as the son of
the dead architect, and the story quickly turns
to obsession, and accordingly to the last sex
We first get a long masturbation scene of Missy
touching herself under Mickey's orders, and then
comes the big (and pretty long) coupling, that
actually has some heat, though I doubt that two
strangers would be so intimate with one another.
Oh well, movies are fantasy..
The ending is a bit of a hoax, since we're told
to wait for the second part, though I probably
won't bother with it.
The DVD :
The movie was shot on video, therefore the image
quality is not very good, I just don't like the
clarity and coldness that identifies shot-on-
the sound is a major letdown, not only is it in
mono, but it is badly recorded, so you hear the
buzzing of the video cameras in the background!
As for the extras, we get a trailer for Part 2
(more of the same, apparently) as well as
a 'message from Candida' (not very interesting)
and a commentary by Her Majesty.
Actually, the commentary only rund for 49 minutes
and encompasses 3 sex scenes but it is more or
less enjoyable. HOWEVER it is so badly mixed that
you barely hear Candida's voice over the sex!
Finally there are some bloopers that are fun to
watch (but short).
All in all, not a movie I would buy.. the
production values are not very good (for today's
standards, pretty bad even), there's not a lot of
sex, though all scenes are injected with a lot of
fun and good chemistry, and the plot is boring to
The extras are okay, but nothing you absolutely
have to experience, so the only possible audience
for this one are couples who don't want a feature
that's too explicit, and don't expect the visual
qualities of a Michael Ninn/Antonio Passolini
Not a DVD I would really recommend.
