Well, I took a little break from porn for a while, but I decided to catch another Chi Chi movie. After having some mixed feelings about Pretty Mess, I didn't have high hopes for Bellisima, but in the end I was somewhat surprised.
The Movie: Okay, this one is a little different than the usual Chi Chi movie in that it's actually got a good amount of dialogue, and there is a definate plot. This is a lot closer to Sentenced than say VIP 54. Does it work? Yes, and no.
The plot of the movie is this. Mercedez, playing herself, is the lead actress on a Spanish soap opera called "Bellisima". She plays the title character on the show. Well, the show seems to be getting pretty popular, and because of that, she finds herself with a stalker. Things just kind of escalate from there.
The movie starts out very campy, and very funny, and then suddenly takes a pretty dark turn with a few characters actually getting murdered (off screen of course). The ending, though, restores the original light mood.
The sex is good, although pretty average for a Vivid movie. There is nothing to shocking, but it isn't like everyone is going through the motions. Overall, decent stuff. You get two scenes between Mercedez and Randy Spears (the first scene, and the last scene). Both are okay, but nothing outside of the vanilla sex catagory. The second scene is between Julian, Katsumi, and Cherokee. It was pretty good, with some good, clean sex. Again, like the first scene, what you would expect from Vivid. The third scene is between Nick Manning, Lola, and at one point Mercedez. This is the scene that sticks in my mind. Lola is an amazing performer, and really gives her all here. I mean, I have never seen such an intense blowjob in almost all the adult films I've viewed. Then we get to the fucking. Nick Manning goes NUTS! I mean, he really starts going crazy, and just fucking like a mad man. I am pretty sure while he is with Mercedez she actually couldn't take it, because it sounds like she says stop, and then the scene cuts right to the pop shot. Intense, yes. Sexy, yeah, until Nick turns into a psycho. Still, he is a good performer, and his pop shot is HUGE! The fourth scene is between Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo. Sweet scene, nice scene. Pretty normal stuff. After that scene is done is when the story gets dark. You'll see what I mean if you watch the movie.
The acting is actually pretty good. No one is really flat, and everyone knows how to handle what dialogue they have. I mean, this isn't some great feature, but it is entertaining. It kind of reminds me of some of Jonathan Morgans stuff, like Double Feature (the sex isn't as good, but the story, and all of that is pretty good).
Directing wise, well, I had a hard time believing this was a Chi Chi LaRue movie. There is almost no sign of his style here. The cuts, the camera work, everything is fitting for a smaller feature. It works here, and I have to say, good job. I mean, it isn't as striking as Pretty Mess, but it's pretty darn strong.
Tech Stuff: The DVD is your usual Vivid DVD. The picture isn't great, but it is looking a heck of a lot better than some of their film projects. The sounds is clear, with no problems.
Extras: The usual. I wasn't expecting anything special with this one, and I didn't get anything. There is a behind the scenes video that you could pretty much just ignore. There are the trailers, the galleries, and the Vivid Girls extras. It's the usualy here.
OverAll: Well, I know I'm only giving it a three and a half, but that's really because the sex didn't move past average for most of the movie. Still, it's funny, the girls are gorgeous, the guys are hot (Thank you God for Julian), and it's something that reminds me of some of the first porn movies I ever saw. If you want a simple, fun movie without circus act sex, then check out Bellisima. It may surprise you.
